Trucks

Questions about what types of trucks we buy and what we’re looking for.

What Types of Trucks Do You Buy?
−
We buy all types of commercial trucks — Class 8 semi trucks, heavy duty vocational trucks (dump, flatbed, tanker, logging, mixer, refuse), medium duty trucks (Class 4, 5, 6 box trucks, service trucks, step vans, utility trucks), and light duty work trucks (Ford F-250, F-350, RAM 2500, RAM 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, Chevy Silverado 2500, Toyota Tundra, Rivian, and others used commercially). Any make, any model, any condition.
What Truck Makes Do You Buy?
+
We buy all makes including Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Mack, Volvo, International, Western Star, Ford, GMC, RAM, Dodge, Chevrolet, Toyota, Tesla, Rivian, Jeep, Isuzu, Hino, Sterling, and all other commercial truck manufacturers. If it’s a truck with a clear title, we’ll evaluate it.
Do You Buy Semi Trucks?
+
Yes. Semi trucks are our primary purchase. We buy Class 8 tractor-trailers, day cabs, and sleeper cabs from all manufacturers. Any engine, any transmission, any mileage, any condition. Running or non-running.
Do You Buy Light Duty Pickup Trucks?
+
Yes — light duty trucks used in commercial operations. We buy Ford F-250, F-350, RAM 2500, RAM 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, Chevy Silverado 2500, Toyota Tundra, Rivian commercial trucks, and similar light duty work trucks. Personal use light duty trucks not used commercially are evaluated case by case.
Do You Buy Dump Trucks?
+
Yes. We purchase dump trucks of all configurations — single axle, tandem axle, tri-axle, and quad axle. All makes including Mack, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, International, and Ford. Any condition.
Do You Buy Box Trucks?
+
Yes. We buy box trucks and straight trucks of all sizes — 16ft, 20ft, 24ft, and 26ft. Liftgate or no liftgate. Any manufacturer, any condition, any mileage.
Do You Buy Specialty and Vocational Trucks?
+
Yes. We purchase cement mixers, refuse trucks, logging trucks, crane trucks, bucket trucks, tow trucks, tanker trucks, service trucks, and other specialty commercial vehicles. If you’re not sure if we’d be interested in your specific truck, call us at (404) 453-1427 and we’ll tell you immediately.
Is There a Minimum or Maximum Year for Trucks You Buy?
+
No minimum or maximum year. We buy trucks from any year — 1970s classics through brand new late model trucks. Age affects the offer price but never disqualifies a truck from consideration.

Trailers

Questions about the types of trailers we purchase and what we look for.

What Types of Trailers Do You Buy?
−
We buy all types of commercial trailers — dry van trailers, refrigerated reefer trailers, flatbed trailers, step deck trailers, lowboy trailers, tanker trailers, dump trailers, hopper and grain trailers, auto transport trailers, curtain side trailers, conestoga trailers, extendable flatbed trailers, chassis trailers, and specialty configurations. Any make, any length, any condition.
Do You Buy Reefer Trailers with Non-Working Refrigeration Units?
+
Yes. We buy refrigerated trailers whether the reefer unit is working or not. A working Thermo King or Carrier unit increases the value, but a non-working unit doesn’t prevent the sale. Show us the unit in your photos and note the condition — we’ll price it accordingly.
What Trailer Manufacturers Do You Buy?
+
We buy trailers from all manufacturers including Wabash National, Great Dane, Utility Trailer, Vanguard, Strick, Hyundai Translead, Stoughton, Manac, Fruehauf, Trailmobile, Timpte, Wilson, Fontaine, XL Specialized, Talbert, Landoll, Heil, Walker, Beall, Dragon, PJ Trailers, Big Tex, and dozens more. If it has a clear title, we’ll evaluate it regardless of manufacturer.
Do You Buy Damaged Trailers?
+
Yes. Damaged floors, broken sidewalls, structural damage, bent frames, accident damage — we evaluate and purchase damaged trailers. Show all damage clearly in your photos and describe it honestly. Condition affects price but doesn’t disqualify the trailer. A clear title is all we require.
Is There a Minimum Length or Age for Trailers?
+
No minimum length or age. We buy trailers of all lengths and from any year. Age and condition are factored into the offer — they don’t disqualify a trailer from consideration.

The Process

Questions about how the buying process works from start to finish.

How Does the Process Work?
−
Four steps: (1) Submit your truck or trailer details through our online form or by calling (404) 453-1427. (2) Send photos and video of the equipment. (3) Receive a cash offer within 24 hours. (4) Accept the offer and we come to you for pickup and payment. The entire process can be completed remotely — you never need to come to us or move the equipment. See our How It Works page for a detailed breakdown.
How Fast Can I Get an Offer?
+
Most sellers receive an offer within 24 hours of providing complete truck or trailer details and photos. If you send thorough photos and include a video of the engine running, we can often respond within hours. Incomplete submissions — missing photos or vague condition descriptions — take longer because we need to follow up for more information.
How Long Does the Full Process Take?
+
Most single-unit deals complete within 3 to 7 business days from first contact to payment in hand. If you need to close faster, tell us upfront and we’ll prioritize your deal. Fleet purchases with multiple units take longer depending on the size of the inventory.
Do I Have to Bring the Truck to You?
+
No. We come to you anywhere in the U.S. We handle all transportation at no cost to you. The truck or trailer stays exactly where it is until we come to pick it up.
What Photos Should I Send?
+
For trucks: all four exterior sides, the engine bay with hood open, the interior cab and dashboard, the frame rails, all tires, and any damage areas. For trailers: all four exterior sides, the interior floor and walls, the landing gear, rear doors or tailgate, all axles and tires, the reefer unit if equipped, and any damage areas. The more photos the better — good photos lead to faster and more accurate offers.
Can I Sell My Truck If It’s Still in Service?
+
Yes. If your truck is still running loads, we can schedule pickup on a specific day when it’s available. Let us know your operational schedule when you accept the offer and we’ll coordinate pickup around it.
Is There Any Obligation When I Request a Quote?
+
No obligation whatsoever. Getting a quote is free. You can decline our offer for any reason with no pressure and no penalty. We only ask that if you decide not to sell to us, you let us know so we can cancel any scheduled pickup.
What Happens If I Change My Mind After Accepting?
+
You can back out before pickup without penalty. Our offers are not binding contracts. If circumstances change, contact us as soon as possible so we can cancel the scheduled pickup logistics.

Payment

Questions about how and when you get paid.

How Do You Pay?
−
Individual sellers — owner-operators and private individuals — are paid cash or cashier’s check on the spot at pickup. Fleet companies, trucking businesses, leasing operators, and institutional sellers are paid via bank wire transfer within 1 to 2 business days after title transfer is completed.
When Do I Get Paid?
+
Individual sellers get paid at pickup — the same day we come to collect the truck or trailer. Fleet and business sellers receive bank wire transfer within 1 to 2 business days of completing the title transfer paperwork. We do not hold payment pending resale of your equipment.
Do You Pay Cash?
+
Yes. Individual sellers are paid cash or cashier’s check on the spot at pickup. For larger individual transactions, cashier’s check may be the preferred method. For fleet and business sellers, payment is via bank wire transfer.
Will the Offer Change at Pickup?
+
Our offers are firm — what we offer is what we pay. The only scenario where an offer is adjusted at pickup is if the truck or trailer is materially different from what was described — significant undisclosed damage, different mileage, major missing components. This is why we strongly encourage honest and complete disclosure upfront. We do not use minor discrepancies as an excuse to renegotiate.
Do You Charge Any Fees or Commissions?
+
No fees, no commissions, no deductions. We are a direct buyer — we make you an offer and pay exactly that amount. There are no seller fees, listing fees, auction commissions, or transportation deductions taken from your payment.

Titles & Paperwork

Questions about title requirements and documentation.

Do I Need a Clear Title to Sell?
−
Yes. A clear title is the only hard requirement to sell your truck or trailer to Big Ugly Truck. The title must be in your name or your company’s name. Salvage titles are accepted. The title cannot have an unresolved lien unless the lien is paid off at or before closing.
Do You Buy Salvage Title Trucks and Trailers?
+
Yes. Salvage title trucks and trailers are purchased. Salvage title equipment is priced lower than clean title equipment of the same type, but the salvage title itself does not disqualify the truck or trailer. Disclose the salvage title upfront in your submission.
What If There’s a Lien on My Truck?
+
A lien doesn’t automatically prevent a sale but it must be resolved. The most common solutions are: paying off the lien before closing so you hold a clear title at pickup, or a simultaneous payoff where a portion of our purchase payment goes directly to the lender to satisfy the lien at closing. Contact us with your lien details and we’ll walk you through the best option for your situation.
Who Handles the Title Transfer?
+
We do. We bring all title transfer paperwork to pickup. You sign the title over to us and we handle all filing, processing, and documentation. You don’t need to visit a DMV, submit forms, or follow up on anything after signing.
What Documentation Do I Receive After the Sale?
+
We provide a signed bill of sale at pickup that serves as your proof of sale. Keep this document — you’ll need it to cancel insurance, return license plates to the DMV, and for tax purposes. The bill of sale includes the sale price, VIN, date, and both parties’ information.
What Do I Do with the License Plates?
+
In most states, license plates belong to the registered owner — not the vehicle. Remove your plates before pickup. You can return them to your state’s DMV or transfer them to another vehicle depending on your state’s rules. We do not need the plates and they do not transfer with the title.

Fleet Sales

Questions about selling multiple trucks or trailers at once.

Do You Buy Multiple Trucks at Once?
−
Yes — fleet purchases are one of our specialties. We buy fleets of any size — from 2 units to hundreds. We evaluate your entire fleet inventory and make a single bulk offer. We do not cherry pick units. Visit our Sell My Fleet page for more information.
How Does the Fleet Process Differ from a Single Unit Sale?
+
For fleets, we ask you to submit a complete inventory list — year, make, model, VIN, mileage, and condition for each unit — along with photos of each truck or trailer. We evaluate the full inventory and respond with a single bulk offer covering all units. Fleet purchases take 48 to 72 hours for offer delivery depending on fleet size. Payment is via bank wire transfer.
Do You Buy Mixed Fleets of Trucks and Trailers?
+
Yes. We purchase mixed fleets containing any combination of trucks and trailers. Submit a full inventory of all units and we’ll evaluate the complete fleet together.
Do You Work with Bankruptcy Trustees?
+
Yes. We purchase commercial truck and trailer assets as part of bankruptcy proceedings. We can provide written offer documentation suitable for court filings and coordinate payment directly with the trustee or attorney of record. Contact us directly at (404) 453-1427 to discuss bankruptcy estate liquidation.
Do You Work with Banks and Lenders on Repossessed Vehicles?
+
Yes. We purchase repossessed commercial trucks and trailers from banks, credit unions, and finance companies. We can move quickly on repossessed inventory and coordinate directly with the lender’s recovery department. Call us at (404) 453-1427 to discuss your repossessed inventory.

Condition

Questions about what condition of equipment we accept.

Do You Buy Trucks That Don’t Run?
−
Yes. We buy trucks and trailers in any condition — running, non-running, blown engine, bad transmission, seized components, or sitting idle for years. Condition affects the offer price but never disqualifies equipment from consideration. A clear title is all we require.
Should I Repair My Truck Before Selling?
+
No. In almost every case, the cost of repairs will not be fully reflected in a higher offer. Sell your truck or trailer as-is and let us price it based on its current condition. Don’t spend money on repairs, cleaning, or upgrades before selling — it rarely improves the net amount you receive.
Do You Buy High-Mileage Trucks?
+
Yes. There is no mileage cutoff. High mileage affects the offer price but does not disqualify a truck. A 1,500,000-mile Kenworth in good mechanical condition can still bring a meaningful offer. Submit it and let us evaluate it.
Do You Buy Accident-Damaged Trucks?
+
Yes. Accident-damaged trucks and trailers are purchased. Show all damage clearly in your photos — frame damage, cab damage, collision damage, fire damage, flood damage. Complete and honest disclosure upfront prevents delays or offer adjustments at pickup.
Do You Buy CARB Non-Compliant Trucks?
+
Yes. California CARB Truck and Bus Regulation non-compliance does not disqualify a truck. We purchase non-compliant trucks as-is — no retrofit, no upgrade, no repair required before selling. This is particularly relevant for owner-operators in California where compliance costs often exceed the truck’s value.
Do You Buy Trucks with Missing Parts or Components?
+
Yes — but disclose all missing components upfront. Missing exhaust, missing seats, missing fifth wheel, stripped wiring — all of this affects the offer price. Disclose everything in your initial submission so our offer reflects the actual condition of the truck. Undisclosed missing components discovered at pickup may result in an offer adjustment.
