The book states it does not imply that all Kentucky aggregate sources are listed, so absence from it is not evidence that this one is unapproved, inactive or small — and the simplest explanation the book’s own caveat permits is that no entry was submitted.

All of that sits under a statute more generous than the crossings are.

Kentucky gives a ten per cent tolerance on its axle weight provisions to vehicles engaged exclusively in hauling crushed stone, fill dirt and rock, soil, bulk sand, coal, phosphate muck, asphalt, concrete, solid waste, tankage or animal residues, livestock, feed for livestock or poultry, and agricultural products — except on the interstate system. Stone qualifies, and so do grain, feed and livestock on Bourbon County farm ground.

And where the lightest structures will not take an empty truck, that allowance is not the operative number. On 47 postings in a ten-mile circle the route decides, and the weight is whatever the surviving road will carry.

The larger coal-haul figure belongs to a separate certified network — 90,000 lb on one steering axle plus two tandem axles with a five per cent tolerance — and that certified road list was not read for this work.

Beyond the weight, the paperwork is that one sentence, and none of it needs anybody to drive out here to begin.

Everything after it is a fix rather than a category. A lost title has a counter replacement; where one never existed there is a bonded route. Neither stops a sale.
