Quartzite is metamorphosed sandstone in which the quartz grains have recrystallised and fused. The consequence is not decorative. The rock breaks through the grains rather than around them, which is what makes it hard, and quartz is harder than the steel of a truck body.

So this material scours rather than degrading into the body. The inspection points are floor plate, wear liner and bulkhead, and carry-back is not a symptom to expect here — there are no fines packing into a floor because the rock is not producing them.

The mine regulator, for its part, records the commodity as crushed and broken granite. That is the third register disagreement in this batch and it is printed rather than resolved: both sources are primary and neither was adjudicated here.

Georgia’s base limit is not stated as including enforcement tolerances the way Alabama’s is, and what Georgia’s enforcement tolerance is was not established in this research. None is stated here, because stating one would be inventing it.

Statewide the postings are mostly real caps rather than technicalities: 1,899 of 15,090 structures are coded posted for load, 12.6%, and the separately coded field puts 1,767 below legal loads, 11.7%. Only 5.1% of the posted ones fall below the commercial floor.

Those figures decide the route. This one decides the sale, and it is a single sentence.

Everything after that is a fix rather than a taxonomy. A lost title is a counter transaction at a tag office — a driver’s licence, the year, make and model, the vehicle identity number, a fee of $18, printed on the spot in about forty-five minutes depending on the line. Where no title exists, the bonded route runs through a surety company, an application with a sales document, a police inspection form confirming the vehicle is not stolen, then the tag office.
