Sell your semi truck for cash in Concord the easy and convenient way

Concord sits a little over a mile west of the Oak Grove Preparation Plant, with quarries, coal workings and Bessemer’s rail ramp all within seven miles, so the trucks parked here tend to be dump bodies, tractors and work trucks that serve those sites.

Selling a truck in Concord? Tell us about it and we'll take it from there.

Coal east and west

Between the Oak Grove plant and the Oak Grove Mine

The Mine Safety and Health Administration places the Oak Grove Preparation Plant, a coal preparation plant, 1.1 miles east of Concord, and the Oak Grove Mine itself 6.2 miles to the west. A tractor or dump truck that shuttles between those two sites may well be sitting on a lot in town between shifts, and that is a fine place for us to collect it. Give us the street address and say whether a gate or a shift change limits access.

If your truck has hauled for either Oak Grove site, set aside any mine-site paperwork you kept for it: site inspection sheets, service logs, the registration card. Daylight photos of the cab, frame, tires and body belong in that pile too, sent along with the VIN.

South of town, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists two crushed-stone quarries: Crimson Stone at 3.8 miles and the Bessemer Quarry at 6.7 miles. Aggregate work of that kind keeps tri-axle dump trucks, end-dump trailers and the tractors that pull them busy on short runs out of Concord.

Selling one of those rigs, tell us the body length and whether the trailer goes with the tractor or on its own. If the unit is still parked at a quarry rather than at home, name the quarry and the person who can let a driver in.

Bessemer’s intermodal ramp and the Birmingport terminal

About 6.3 miles south-east of Concord, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records the Central Alabama ICTF at Bessemer as a rail intermodal ramp. Day cabs that drayed containers off that ramp are trucks we purchase, and the VIN plus the odometer reading is the first thing we ask for.

Two rail yards, Elliot and Flintridge, appear 6.4 miles east of town on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Further out, 7.9 miles north-west, the Energy Information Administration lists Birmingport as a petroleum product terminal. If your tanker or tractor has loaded at Birmingport, mention which trailer it pulled and whether that trailer is part of the sale.

Construction carries over a third of Concord’s jobs

For 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) put 219 jobs in Concord, and construction accounts for 37 percent of them. Contractors’ flatbeds, dump trucks and service bodies are the trucks that kind of work keeps on driveways around town.

A contractor winding down a crew truck or a small fleet can send us a list of units at once: year, make, model and VIN for each. We look at every truck on that list individually and collect them from wherever they are parked in Concord.

Around Concord, Jefferson County holds 398 farms according to USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cattle, cut Christmas trees and short-term woody crops at the top of its list. Livestock haulers, stake-bed trucks and farm tractors that move trees or cattle fit what we buy.

A farm truck often has a title kept in a drawer for years. Find it before you call, and if the name on it is a relative or a farm partnership rather than you, say so at the start so the transfer can be arranged properly.

Concord’s titles are handled by the Alabama Department of Revenue, which lists its County License Plate Issuing Officials for Jefferson County at 716 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. N., County Courthouse, Suite A-100, Birmingham, 35203, about 14 miles from town according to the Alabama Department of Revenue. That courthouse office is where a duplicate title application from Concord is started.

If the title is missing, begin that application before the pickup is scheduled, and keep the receipt it produces. Have the registration and a photo ID on hand too; the person named on the title signs it over when the truck leaves.
