Fuel racks up the shore
Fuel and bulk liquid terminals up the bay shore
Heading north from the island, a petroleum product terminal named THEODORE sits 19.5 miles north, by Energy Information Administration records. A tractor that hauls fuel off that rack can be collected at the island, at Theodore or at whatever yard it parks in; give us that address and the gate hours when you get in touch.
Barely a tenth of a mile beyond it, Martin Midstream Partners L.P runs a liquid bulk terminal that the Bureau of Transportation Statistics puts 19.6 miles north of town. If your tanker or tractor has been loading at both sites, list the trailers it pulled and send photos of the cab, the frame and the fifth wheel so the description and the pictures line up.
Plant and pit loads
Dump trucks and mixers serving the Theodore plants
Amrize Theodore Plant, a cement plant, appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration listings 21 miles north of the island. Bulk cement tractors and ready-mix trucks that run out of that plant are trucks we buy, and the plant lot is a workable place for us to meet the truck if that is where it sits between loads.
To the north-west, LYNN NOLEN CONSTRUCTION operates a sand and gravel pit 20.9 miles away, on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s own register. A dump truck or end-dump that works that pit should come with its registration and any service records in the cab; tell us the body type and axle count when you first call.
A small workforce and the trucks that supply it
On the island itself, 637 people held jobs in 2023 by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. A box truck, a service body or a single-axle flatbed that keeps those workplaces supplied is as welcome as a highway tractor, and we can pick it up from a driveway or a business lot on the island.
Send the VIN, a few clear photos and the registration name for any truck that serves island businesses. If the truck is parked somewhere narrow, mention it, so the pickup is planned for the space the truck actually has.
Herds, cotton fields and greenhouses once you reach the mainland
Once the road leaves Dauphin Island, it runs into farm country: USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counted 657 farms in Mobile County. Cattle, cotton and potted flowering plants top that county’s list, so livestock haulers, cotton module trucks and refrigerated nursery box trucks all fit what we collect.
A farm truck often carries farm plates or sits titled to the operation rather than a person. Have the title in the name that matches the farm’s registration, and tell us which field, barn or greenhouse the truck is parked at.
Michael Boulevard
Where an island owner replaces a missing title
In Alabama, titles fall under the Alabama Department of Revenue, and its County License Plate Issuing Officials handle the counter work. For island owners that counter is the Mobile County office at 3925 Michael Blvd., Suite F, Mobile, 36609, which the Alabama Department of Revenue lists 28.8 miles from Dauphin Island.
Bring the registration and your identification to Michael Boulevard if the title has gone missing, and ask about a replacement before we schedule the pickup. If a lender was ever listed on the title, bring its release letter too, since the title transfers to us at collection.
