Coal preparation down the road
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Dodge Mine, a coal preparation plant, about 10.1 miles south-west of Good Hope. A dump truck or tractor that has shuttled coal in and out of a plant like that is one we would look at, and it can stay at the plant lot or your yard when we come to collect it.
If your truck has run loads for the Dodge Mine site, tell us that when you first get in touch, along with the VIN and a current odometer reading. Send photos of the bed or trailer, the cab and the frame rails too, and mention any site access rules, since the pickup has to be arranged with whoever controls the plant gate.
Stone quarries to the north and west
North of town, the Lacon Quarry is a crushed-stone operation about 15.8 miles away, according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. The Mine Safety and Health Administration also places Battleground Rock Quarry, another crushed-stone site, roughly 17.4 miles to the north-west, and a dimension-stone quarry called Pit #1 about 16.5 miles due west.
Tri-axle dumps, end dumps and flatbeds that carry cut or crushed stone from sites like these are part of what we purchase. If the truck is still sitting at a quarry, give us the site name and a contact who can let us in; if it is back home in Good Hope, the street address is enough.
For a stone hauler, have the title in hand and any scale tickets, service invoices or inspection sheets you kept. Those records travel with the truck to its next owner, and a few clear photos of the body, hoist and tires round out what we need to start.
Good Hope’s factory and jobsite trucks
Of the 2,171 jobs counted inside Good Hope for 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 816 in manufacturing, which is 37.6 percent of the town’s total. Box trucks, straight trucks and tractors that move parts and finished goods between plants fit what we buy, whether the truck belonged to a plant or to an owner-operator who contracted with one.
Construction makes up another 244 of those local jobs, an 11.2 percent share in the same LEHD figures for 2023. Across the county, the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns counts 47 construction establishments. Dump trucks, flatbeds, water trucks and service bodies that come off jobsites like these can be sold from the yard where they are parked; send the yard address and we plan the collection around it.
Cattle, beans and corn
Around Good Hope and the rest of Cullman County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,574 farms, and it ranks cattle, soybeans and corn as the leading products there. Grain trucks, livestock haulers and farm tractors that pull hopper trailers are all trucks we purchase.
A farm truck often sits in a barn lot or at the edge of a field rather than on a paved yard. That is fine: tell us how to reach it, whether a gate needs opening, and whether the title is in the farm’s name or yours, so the paperwork matches when we arrive.
FMCSA roadside inspection records from September 2024 through August 2026 take in 244 trucks around Good Hope, and the median model year among them is 2020. Just over a quarter of that group, 28.3 percent by the same FMCSA roadside inspection records, carried a model year ten or more years back.
Whatever the model year of yours, the steps are the same: the VIN, the odometer reading, photos from all four sides and of the cab, and the title. If you have past inspection reports from roadside stops, include them; they show the truck’s history in the owner’s own paperwork.
A lost title is a short trip to Cullman
In Alabama, title applications are handled by the Alabama Department of Revenue through its County License Plate Issuing Officials. For Good Hope, the Department of Revenue lists the Cullman County office about 4.5 miles from town, at 500 2nd Avenue S.W., Rm 103, Cullman, 35055.
If the title is missing or still shows a lender, start at that Cullman office before we schedule the pickup. Bring your registration, your ID and any lien release you have, and ask the County License Plate Issuing Official what a replacement title requires for a commercial truck.
