Two stone quarries just east of town
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists LANDMARK PLANT and Alabaster Mill, both crushed-stone quarries, about 5.2 miles east of Indian Springs Village. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that has spent its shifts between those pits and local job sites is exactly the kind of truck we buy here, and it can stay at the yard or the house where it sits now.
If your stone hauler is still parked near either quarry gate, tell us whose ground it is on and who can let us in. Send photos of the body, the hoist and the cab along with the VIN, and keep the scale tickets or haul logs if you have them, since they show what the truck carried.
North-west fuel run
Two petroleum product terminals, BIRMINGHAM at 9.7 miles and BIRMINGHAM 481 at 9.9 miles, lie north-west of town on the Energy Information Administration’s terminal list. Tank trucks and tractors pulling fuel trailers out of those racks are on the list of what we purchase.
For a tanker, gather the tank inspection reports and any hazmat paperwork that travelled with the unit before you call. Those records sit beside the title and registration and let us understand the truck’s working history without guesswork.
Bessemer, due west
Containers and shale out past Bessemer
Roughly 12.2 miles west, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Central Alabama ICTF, a rail intermodal ramp at Bessemer. Day cabs that shuttle containers on and off that ramp can be sold from wherever they are parked after the last load.
Just beyond it, Bessemer Shale Mine appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records as an industrial-mineral mine about 12.6 miles west. If your truck worked that site, mention it when you first contact us and include the odometer reading, so the conversation starts from the truck’s actual route.
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, shows the FLINTRIDGE yard at 12.8 miles and EAST THOMAS at 12.9 miles, both north-west of Indian Springs Village. Tractors and straight trucks that run freight to and from those yards fit what we collect.
A truck parked at a rail-side lot needs a contact who can open the gate on the day we come. Give us that name and the lot’s address, and keep the registration card in the cab for the handover.
Where a missing Alabama title gets sorted
In Alabama, titles run through the Alabama Department of Revenue, which works with County License Plate Issuing Officials. The nearest office on its list is Jefferson - City of Vestavia Hills, at 1032 Montgomery Hwy., Vestavia Hills, 35216, about 5.9 miles away, and the Department of Revenue notes it serves residents of Vestavia Hills only.
If you live outside Vestavia Hills, the Alabama Department of Revenue’s list of County License Plate Issuing Officials shows which office covers your address. Start a replacement title there before the sale, and tell us when it is in progress so we can plan the pickup around it.
Cattle, cotton and horses around the village
Across Shelby County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 385 farms, with cotton, cattle and equine at the top of the list. Livestock haulers, farm flatbeds and trucks that move hay or horses all fall within what we buy.
Locally, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts record 1,043 jobs in Indian Springs Village for 2023. Whether your truck served a farm or a small local business, photos from all four sides and a clear shot of the dash are enough to begin.
