Between the basefields
Hauling between two basefields a few miles apart
Cairns Basefield AL lies 3.7 miles south-east of Level Plains, and Shell Basefield AL lies 6.1 miles north-west, both listed as military installations by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A truck kept at a home along the roads between them can be collected right where it is parked, so give us the street address and say whether a gate or fence stands between the truck and the road.
If your truck did contract hauling onto either basefield, keep any gate passes, delivery logs or service records with the title. Send photos of the cab, the frame, the tires and the data plate on the door jamb along with your first message.
Dump trucks from the Core Aggregates and Bellwood roads
Seven miles south-east of town, at 7.1 by the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing, CORE AGGREGATES, LLC runs a sand and gravel operation. Tandem dumps and end-dump tractors that load at a pit like that are trucks we buy, whether they are parked at the pit, at a shop or in a yard at home.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration also lists BELLWOOD SAND PLANT, 10.7 miles due south of Level Plains. If your dump truck or tractor ran loads out of Bellwood, tell us the bed or trailer type, send the VIN, and note where it sits now so the pickup can be planned around that spot.
Rail lines eastward
Barrett and Dothan rail yards beyond Level Plains
Heading east, the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the BARRETT yard 21.3 miles away and the DOTHAN yard 22.3 miles away. Day cabs that shuttle freight to and from rail yards are part of what we purchase, and so are the trailers that went with them.
A tractor parked near either yard does not need to come back into Level Plains for us to collect it. Send the address of the lot, the name of whoever holds the keys, and a photo of the odometer, and we can line up the visit with that person.
Cattle, cotton and corn
Livestock, module and grain trucks off cattle and cotton land
Around Level Plains and the rest of Dale County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture records 421 farms, with cattle, cotton and corn listed as the leading products. Livestock haulers, module trucks and grain trucks from places like these fit what we buy, and a truck can stay in the barn lot or field edge until collection.
For a farm truck, have the title in the owner’s name, the current registration, and photos showing the bed, hoist or trailer hitch. If the truck is registered to a farm business rather than a person, tell us who signs for that business.
Coffee - Elba office
Sorting out a missing title through the Elba office
Titles in Alabama go through the Alabama Department of Revenue, which handles applications via County License Plate Issuing Officials. The Alabama Department of Revenue lists Coffee - Elba at 230-P N. Court Ave., Elba, 36323, about 19 miles from Level Plains on the Alabama Department of Revenue office list.
If the title has gone missing, start the replacement with that Elba office before the truck is collected, and keep the receipt it gives you. Bring the VIN, your identification and the registration, and tell us the title is on its way so we can plan around the date it arrives.
