The Ozark carriers and the cargo they haul
General freight is ticked by 59 of the 128 active Ozark carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census. If your box truck or tractor has run general loads out of Dale County, a photo of the cab, the odometer and the door sticker with the VIN tells us most of what we need to start.
Machinery and large objects appear on 32 Ozark carrier registrations in the federal carrier census, with logs, poles, beams and lumber on 31 and motor vehicles on 28. A lowboy tractor, a log truck or a car hauler from around Ozark is a truck we want to hear about; tell us the body or trailer setup so we know how to load it.
Of those 128 carriers, the FMCSA census records 84 running intrastate only, 44 crossing state lines and 66 operating as private fleets hauling their own goods. A private-fleet truck sold out of a farm or a contractor’s yard still needs a clean title in the owner’s name, so check whose name is printed on it before you call.
Trucks parked near the post and Hunt Stagefield
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places Hunt Stagefield 6.2 miles south-east of Ozark and Fort Novosel 6.9 miles south-west. If you hauled to or around the post and the truck now sits at a home off base, give us that street address; collection happens where the truck is parked.
Moving away from Dale County after a posting ends does not mean taking a truck along. Leave it with someone who can hand over the keys near Ozark, send us the title and the registration, and the rest of the sale can be done by phone and email from your new address.
Sand plants and the Dothan rail yards
Mine Safety and Health Administration records show Core Aggregates, a sand and gravel operation, 16.4 miles south of Ozark, and the Bellwood Sand Plant 22.4 miles to the south-west. Dump trucks working pits like these are often parked at the operation itself, so tell us whether the gate is staffed and who can let a driver in.
To the south-east, the North American Rail Network maps a Dothan rail yard 20.5 miles away and the Barrett yard at 22 miles. A day cab that has shuttled freight to those yards should come with its registration and any service records you kept, so its history travels with the photos.
Ozark hauling radius, mileage and model years
In FMCSA’s carrier census, Ozark outfits put 198 drivers on runs inside 100 miles and 127 on longer hauls out of Dale County. Among the 27 carriers that reported mileage to that census, the median was 42,000 miles a truck a year. Have the current odometer reading ready when you reach us.
Across 64 trucks inspected at the roadside between October 2024 and August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspection records give a median model year of 2012.5, with 65.6 percent of them ten or more years old. Put the model year and VIN of your Ozark truck in the first message you send us.
The three biggest fleets based here run 34, 26 and 18 power units under FMCSA’s census, with 37, 44 and 18 drivers. An owner selling several units at once can list each VIN and where each one sits, and we plan the pickups around that list.
Construction, farms and the Ozark job base
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 4,884 jobs in Ozark in 2023, including 202 in construction, 136 in manufacturing, 112 in transportation and warehousing and 66 in wholesale trade. A truck owned by a business rather than a person needs a signature from someone authorised to sign for that business, so sort that out before the sale.
Contractors with dump and flatbed trucks have a base here too: County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau show 22 construction establishments in Dale County. Cattle lead cotton and corn across the 421 Dale County farms tallied in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. A grain truck or cattle hauler kept on a farm outside Ozark can be collected from the farm; give us directions and say whether the lane takes a tow rig.
The questions we get asked in Ozark
- The tractor sits off base by Fort Novosel; does it have to come into town first?Fort Novosel lies 6.9 miles south-west of Ozark on Bureau of Transportation Statistics figures, and we collect from wherever the truck is parked nearby. Tell us the address and who can meet the driver.
- Is a Dale County log truck with its trailer something you take?Thirty-one Ozark carriers list logs, poles, beams and lumber as cargo in FMCSA’s carrier census, and log trucks are among the trucks we buy here. Send photos of the tractor and the trailer and the title in your name.
- Our dump truck stays at a sand pit south of Ozark; will your driver collect it from the pit?Core Aggregates sits 16.4 miles south of Ozark in Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and a truck parked at a pit like that can be collected on site. Name the person at the pit who unlocks the gate for our driver.
- Which papers should an Ozark owner gather before reaching out?Ozark sellers should have the title, the current registration, the VIN, an odometer photo and any service records to hand. If the title is lost, say so at the start and we will tell you how to replace it before the sale.
