Stone pits off to the south-east
Trinity and Tanner quarries, south-east of Rogersville
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Trinity Quarry, a crushed-stone operation, 19.7 miles south-east of town, with Tanner Quarry another mile beyond it at 20.8 miles. A dump truck or tractor that hauls aggregate from those pits is one we will look at, and it can stay parked at the yard it works from while we arrange collection.
If your truck runs stone out of Trinity or Tanner, send a photo of the bed or trailer, the cab, the VIN plate and the odometer. Add a line naming which quarry it served and the gate it leaves through.
Sheffield, Mallard, Hunt
Sheffield to the west, Mallard and Hunt Refining to the south-east
Twenty and a half miles west of Rogersville, the Sheffield rail yard appears in the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, which also places the Mallard yard 21 miles out in the opposite direction. Tractors that shuttle loads to either yard are trucks we collect from wherever they finish the day.
Hunt Refining, a liquid bulk terminal the Bureau of Transportation Statistics locates 22.1 miles south-east, is the other fixed stop on that side. For a tanker tractor or a truck that has pulled bulk trailers there, tell us the trailer type it was coupled to and have the registration in the cab when we arrive.
Lowboys, grain haulers and private fleets on Rogersville roads
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 70 active carriers in Rogersville, and 52 of them describe themselves as private fleets hauling their own goods. The same census shows only 18 holding interstate authority against 52 operating within Alabama, and a truck from one of them is as likely to be parked on a farm, a job site or a home lot as at a terminal.
Machinery and large objects top the cargo list, with 30 carriers checking that box in the same federal census; 27 list general freight and 24 each list farm supplies and grain, feed and hay. A lowboy tractor, a flatbed or a grain truck from one of these operations is the kind of unit we buy, and the paperwork it needs is the same whichever load it pulled.
The three biggest operators on FMCSA’s register run 131, 21 and 10 power units. Small or large, a fleet selling several trucks at once can send one list of VINs, and we will work through them together.
Fifty-two trucks stopped at the roadside since 2024
Fifty-two trucks tied to Rogersville carriers went through FMCSA roadside inspections between September 2024 and August 2026, and their median model year falls between 2017 and 2018. Of that group, 44 percent were built ten or more years ago, according to those same inspection records.
Whatever year your truck left the factory, the steps do not change: a clear photo of the title, the current registration and any service records you keep. Carriers in the federal census that report mileage put the median at 12,000 miles a truck each year across 11 operators, so write down your own odometer reading before you call.
Cotton rows and plant floors
Corn, soybeans and cotton around town
Rogersville belongs to a county with 1,130 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and Lauderdale growers list corn, soybeans and cotton as their leading crops. Grain trucks, hopper tractors and flatbeds that move seed and fertiliser turn up across those fields, and we collect them from the barn or field edge.
Manufacturing accounts for 105 of the town’s 711 jobs in 2023, a 14.8 percent share by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. County Business Patterns from the same bureau records 16 construction establishments, so dump trucks and equipment haulers sit in contractor yards here too; have the keys and title together for whoever meets us.
In Alabama, the Alabama Department of Revenue handles title applications through County License Plate Issuing Officials. The nearest one on the Department of Revenue’s list is the Limestone County office at 100 South Clinton Street, Suite B, Athens, 35611, about 18 miles from Rogersville.
Start a duplicate there before you list the truck if the original title is missing, and keep the receipt. A truck can be scheduled while the replacement is pending, but the title has to be in hand on the day it changes owners.

- My dump truck hauls out of Trinity or Tanner Quarry - can it be collected there?Trinity Quarry sits 19.7 miles south-east of town by Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and Tanner Quarry 20.8 miles; we can collect a truck at either, as long as you tell us the gate and who will meet us.
- Is a grain truck that works corn and cotton fields around Rogersville something you take?Lauderdale County has 1,130 farms growing mostly corn, soybeans and cotton in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and grain trucks and farm-supply haulers from those operations are trucks we buy.
- My Rogersville operation has several power units - can I send them all at once?FMCSA’s carrier census shows local operators with as many as 131 power units, so send the full VIN list in one message and we will handle the units as one sale.
