Tri-axles and end dumps
Stone trucks from the Glencoe pit at Tidmore Bend
Glencoe Quarry, a crushed-stone operation the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists 4.9 miles south of Tidmore Bend, is the nearest pit to town. Tri-axle dumps and end-dump trailers that cycle stone out of a place like that are trucks we buy, and if yours is still parked near the scale house, give us that location rather than a home address.
Before you call, find the bed length and the axle layout on the door sticker or the build sheet. With a quarry truck, a photo of the body, the hoist and the tag along with the VIN plate tells us more than a long description, and it lets us plan the right equipment to load it.
Gravel on the river side
Gravel trucks on the road east out of Tidmore Bend
Five miles east of Tidmore Bend is Coosa Plant, a sand and gravel operation in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing. Belly-dump trailers, tandem gravel trucks and the day cabs that pull them are all trucks we collect from owners on this side of town.
If the truck sits at a gravel yard instead of your driveway, tell us who to ask for at the gate and whether a lowboy can turn around there. Collection is planned around where the truck actually is, so the yard’s access matters more to us than its distance from your house.
Liquid bulk tankers
RJ Corman’s terminal south of Tidmore Bend
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics records RJ Corman as a liquid bulk terminal about 4.5 miles south of town. Tank tractors and straight-truck tankers that have loaded at a terminal like this one are part of what we purchase, whether you own one unit or several.
For a tanker, gather the tank’s specification plate details and any terminal inspection papers you kept, then photograph the plate itself. Those papers travel with the truck when we take it, and having them on hand keeps the conversation about your equipment instead of a hunt for documents.
Rail ties and cement silos
Rail and cement west of Tidmore Bend
According to the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the Alabama City rail yard lies 7.8 miles west. Tractors that run between a rail yard and the plants around Gadsden are as welcome here as any quarry truck.
Farther out to the south-west, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the National Cement Company plant at 23.9 miles and the Ashville quarry on Highways 26 and 33 at 22.8 miles. Bulk pneumatic trailers and mixer chassis from that direction can be collected where they last worked; just send the site address with the photos.
Barn-kept straight trucks
Livestock and grain haulers off Tidmore Bend’s field roads
Etowah County had 725 farms on USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and its leading products were cattle, corn and cotton. Livestock haulers, grain trucks and farm-plated straight trucks from those operations are trucks we buy, including ones that sit in a barn between seasons.
A farm truck often lives on a field road instead of a paved lot. Tell us whether the ground is firm enough for a tow rig, drop a pin if the place has no street number, and photograph the registration so the plate type is clear from the start.
Forrest Avenue, Gadsden
A replacement title from the Gadsden license office
Tidmore Bend sellers get a title through the Alabama Department of Revenue, which works through County License Plate Issuing Officials. The Alabama Department of Revenue lists Etowah County’s office for Tidmore Bend at 800 Forrest Ave, Ground Floor, Room #21, Gadsden, 35901, roughly 5 miles from town.
If the title is missing, start the replacement at that Forrest Avenue office before we schedule collection, and keep the receipt it gives you. A title in your name, the current registration and a photo ID are what we need to see on the day the truck leaves.
