A box truck, a dry van tractor or a straight truck from one of those outfits is the kind of equipment we take, so have the title and current registration in your name before you call.
Of those 62 Tuskegee carriers, the federal census records 38 running intrastate only, 24 crossing state lines and 24 operating as private fleets that move their own goods. If your truck carried a USDOT number for a private fleet, tell us whose name is on the title; when it belongs to a business, a signed authorisation from that business keeps the paperwork straight.
Seven new carriers registered from Tuskegee in 2025, against one in 2024, according to the same FMCSA census. An owner who started up last year and now wants to step back can sell a single tractor just as easily as a fleet can sell several.
Timber and cars
Log trucks, car haulers and driveaway units
Thirteen Tuskegee carriers name logs, poles, beams and lumber as their cargo in FMCSA’s census, so log trucks and pole trailers belong on this list. If yours is parked at a woodyard or out on a landing off a county road, send us the location with a pin and a note on how a rollback or tow truck reaches it.
Motor vehicles are hauled by 19 local carriers and driveaway or towaway work is declared by 12, per the federal carrier census. Car carrier tractors and tow trucks from that trade are equipment we take; send photos of the deck, the headrack and the cab along with the VIN.
For trucks from that work, keep the bill of sale or title for any trailer separately from the tractor. Each one transfers on its own Alabama title, and having both in hand lets the two be handled in one visit.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Notasulga Quarry, a crushed-stone site 13.3 miles north-east of town, and Auburn Quarry 14.6 miles out in the same direction. Dump trucks and tri-axles that run stone out of those pits can be collected at the quarry yard if the operator lets us in, so get a gate contact before you book.
West of Tuskegee, Shorter Pit, an industrial-mineral mine, sits 14.2 miles away and Lambert Materials, a sand and gravel operation, sits 18 miles off, both on MSHA’s mine register. If your dump truck is still parked at either, give us the site name and who signs it out.
Hurtsboro Plant, another sand and gravel operation, lies 19.5 miles south-east according to MSHA. A gravel truck parked near Hurtsboro stays put; we collect it from that yard.
Propane and fuel hauling toward Opelika
The Energy Information Administration lists the Opelika Propane Terminal, a petroleum product terminal 21.2 miles north-east of Tuskegee. Bobtails and fuel delivery trucks that load there are equipment we take, and the tank’s inspection and test records should go with the truck.
If a propane or fuel truck has been taken off the road, tell us whether the tank is empty and purged and where the truck now sits. Those two answers settle how the collection is arranged at the yard.
Small fleets and how far they run
FMCSA’s carrier census shows the biggest Tuskegee fleet with 18 power units and 17 drivers, and the next two at 7 power units each. Owners with two or more trucks to sell can list every VIN in one message, and we arrange them as a single collection.
Nine Tuskegee carriers give FMCSA a yearly mileage, and the middle truck among them logs 34,252 miles. When you contact us about a Tuskegee truck, put the current odometer reading next to the VIN.
Cotton leads, then corn and cattle, across the 322 Macon County farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. Grain trucks, cattle haulers and module trucks off those farms are welcome, and a farm-plated truck still needs its title ready at handover.
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts place 3,164 jobs in Tuskegee in 2023. Whether your truck worked for one of those employers or on your own land, find the title and registration before you call, and tell us the name each one is in.
