Pit to prep plant
Black Warrior coal, the quarries and Dodge Mine
The Mine Safety and Health Administration places Black Warrior Mine No 1, a coal mine, 5.9 miles south-west of Warrior, and Dodge Mine, a coal preparation plant, 13.7 miles north-west. A dump truck or tractor that shuttles between pit and plant on that corridor is often parked at a mine gate rather than at a house in town. Tell us which site it sits at and who holds the key, and we arrange collection there.
Two crushed-stone quarries appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records nearby: Mine #1, 6.9 miles east, and Southern Red Rock, 11.3 miles south-west. If your truck hauls aggregate from either one, send photos of the bed, the frame and the tires along with the cab, plus the VIN and the name of the quarry where it is parked.
Coal-country haulers
Alabama-bound authority and own-goods fleets in Warrior
Of the 74 active carriers FMCSA’s carrier census lists at Warrior addresses, 58 keep to Alabama work and 16 hold interstate authority. Private fleets, firms hauling their own goods, account for 44 of the 74 in that same census. A truck that has spent its life inside Alabama will be registered here, so have the Alabama registration and the title together when you call.
General freight is listed by 26 Warrior carriers in the FMCSA census, machinery and large objects by 18, logs, poles, beams and lumber by 12, and metal sheets, coils and rolls by 8. Flatbeds, lowboys, log trailers and coil-rated rigs all fit what we collect. Say what the truck hauled and what trailer, if any, goes with it, since a tractor sold alone and a tractor with its trailer are two different pickups.
New registrations stay modest in FMCSA’s census here: 3 carriers began in 2025 and 1 in 2024. If you started a small operation recently and are selling its only truck, the paperwork is the same as for an older outfit: title, registration and your USDOT number.
Warrior power units, model years and yearly mileage
Warrior’s top three fleets in FMCSA’s census field 38, 37 and 17 power units, staffed by 43, 32 and 17 drivers respectively. Selling several units from one yard can be handled as one collection. List each truck’s VIN and where it is parked, and we plan the visit around the whole group.
FMCSA roadside inspection records covering August 2024 to August 2026 checked 67 trucks tied to Warrior carriers, with a median model year of 2020 and 32.8 percent ten or more years old. Whatever the model year of yours, the title is the document that carries the sale, so find it before anything else.
Across the 12 Warrior carriers that reported mileage to FMCSA’s census, the median works out to 13,500 miles per truck in a year. Write down the odometer reading when you contact us; with the VIN, it answers most of our first questions.
Bridges, the New Boyles yard and the south side
The National Bridge Inventory logs 17 bridges at Warrior with zero load postings and zero clearances under 14 feet. A collection vehicle can reach most addresses in town without a detour, so a truck parked at a home, a shop or a jobsite here is usually straightforward to reach. Give us the street address and note any gate or tight turn.
South of town, the North American Rail Network shows the New Boyles rail yard 15.3 miles away, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Birmingham Airport military installation at 17.2 miles and a liquid bulk terminal at 17.3 miles. If your truck is parked down toward those sites rather than in Warrior itself, we collect it where it stands; just tell us the location and who can let us in.
Warrior payrolls, contractors and county cattle farms
Warrior held 839 jobs in 2023 by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, while County Business Patterns shows 30 construction establishments on the local books. Contractors selling a dump truck, a flatbed or a service body should have the title in the business name and a signature from whoever is authorised to sign for the company.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture records 398 farms in Jefferson County, with cattle, cut Christmas trees and short-term woody crops at the top. A farm truck or livestock hauler parked on a field or in a barn can be collected there. Clear the path to it and send a photo showing how it sits, so the right equipment comes.
Titles, liens and a missing document
For a Warrior truck, the title has to be in hand before collection day. If it is lost, apply for a duplicate through the state’s title agency before you sell, and tell us when you do so we can line up the collection once it arrives.
If a lender still holds a lien, have the payoff letter or lien release ready, and the lender’s contact details. Put registration, any service records and inspection reports in one folder with the title so everything goes with the truck.
