Carriers in town
Van freight, moving vans and container tractors
FMCSA’s carrier census lists 3,348 active carriers based in Anaheim, and 1,074 of them are registered for general freight. If your truck spent its working life on box and van freight around Orange County, have the title, the current registration and the VIN together before you contact us; those three answer most of our first questions.
Of those carriers, 2,966 operate intrastate and 373 run interstate, with 762 registered as private fleets, according to the same FMCSA census. A private fleet truck that hauled a company’s own goods is one we purchase too; if the title is in a business name, have someone who can sign for that business on hand when we collect.
Smaller lines show up in the Anaheim registrations as well: FMCSA’s census counts 124 household goods carriers, 116 motor vehicle haulers and 110 that move intermodal containers. Car carriers, moving vans and container chassis tractors each have their own equipment, so photograph the body, the deck or the fifth wheel along with the cab.
New and fleet
New authorities and fleet sizes
New registrations in Anaheim reached 131 carriers in 2025, after 96 in 2024, on FMCSA’s carrier census. If you started an operation in the last two years and are now selling the tractor, bring the loan payoff letter or lien release with the title so the lienholder can be cleared at pickup.
The FMCSA census also records Anaheim fleets of 750, 351 and 143 power units, with drivers numbering 749, 365 and 143 respectively. Selling several units from one yard is handled as one collection; send a list with each VIN and where each truck is parked.
Drivers on Anaheim carriers number 6,409 working within 100 miles and 4,453 going beyond that, according to FMCSA. A regional truck may be parked at a customer lot or a drop yard rather than at home, so give us that address and a name who can let us in.
Model years on Anaheim inspection reports
Across 2,034 trucks inspected between August 2024 and August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspection records put the median model year for Anaheim carriers at 2019. Whatever year yours is, the model year printed on the registration is the one to give us, so it matches the title.
Those same roadside inspection records show 23.8 percent of the inspected trucks at ten or more model years old. Your most recent inspection report, if you kept it, is useful to send along with the photos.
Among 536 Anaheim carriers reporting mileage to FMCSA, the median comes to 20,000 miles per truck in a year. Read the odometer before you call and include a photo of it with the dash, so the figure we work from is the one on the truck.
Where it is parked
Rail yards, terminals and pits near town
The North American Rail Network places Fullerton Yard 10.5 miles west of Anaheim and West Corona Yard 8.9 miles east. Drayage tractors that shuttle between those yards can be picked up wherever they are parked; tell us whose lot it sits in so the gate is arranged ahead of time.
Mine Safety and Health Administration listings show All American Aggregates and the Corona Plant, both sand and gravel operations, 13.5 miles east, with the 3M Corona Plant crushed-stone quarry at 14.2 miles. Dump trucks and transfer rigs from those pits are trucks we purchase; photograph the bed, the tailgate and the hoist as well as the cab.
Seven miles south-west sits the Orange petroleum product terminal, per the Energy Information Administration, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the City of Industry intermodal ramp 14.6 miles north-west. A tanker tractor or a container hauler working those sites should come with its hazmat or tank paperwork if you have it.
Construction, factories and wholesale
Census Bureau LEHD job counts for 2023 put 19,471 Anaheim jobs in construction and 19,722 in manufacturing, out of 206,204 in all. County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau lists 909 construction establishments, so a dump truck, flatbed or water truck from a job site is a common thing to sell here; tell us the site address if it is still parked there.
Wholesale trade accounts for 10,533 jobs and transportation and warehousing for 4,700, according to LEHD, while County Business Patterns lists 17 warehousing establishments. Box trucks and day cabs from distribution work can be collected from the dock; have the keys and the title with whoever is on site.
Orange County has 158 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with equine, honey and cut flowers at the top. A horse hauler or a flatbed that carried nursery stock sells the same way as any other truck: title, registration and a set of photos.
Clearances and paperwork
The National Bridge Inventory records 149 bridges in Anaheim, none posted for load, and one under 14 feet: the Disneyland Drive northbound span over Disneyland Tramway Road at 9 ft 11 in. If we collect a tall truck near the resort district, give us the exact street so the route avoids that structure.
Lost the title? California’s title agency issues the replacement, and the application goes in under the name printed on the registration. Start it before you contact us and tell us it is in progress, along with the VIN, so the rest of the sale can be lined up while it comes through.
The questions we get asked in Anaheim
- Will you pick up a dump truck that is still parked at a Corona sand and gravel pit?A dump truck at the pit is collected on site. The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists All American Aggregates and the Corona Plant 13.5 miles east of Anaheim, and we come to the truck at the pit. Give us the operator contact who can open the gate.
- Is there a low bridge in Anaheim I should mention? The National Bridge Inventory lists one Anaheim bridge under 14 feet, Disneyland Drive northbound over Disneyland Tramway Road at 9 ft 11 in. Mention it if your truck is parked near there.
- Must a tractor based near Fullerton Yard be driven into Anaheim first?Leave the tractor at the yard. Fullerton Yard is 10.5 miles west of Anaheim on the North American Rail Network, and the truck can stay where it is parked. Tell us the lot owner so access is arranged.
