Gravel and rock
Three aggregate sites a short haul from Arcadia
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Peck Road Gravel Pit as a sand and gravel operation 2.4 miles south-east of Arcadia, with the Irwindale Plant 3.3 miles east. If your dump truck or transfer rig has been loading at either one, photograph the bed, the tailgate and the cab, and have the title and current registration in the same folder before you reach out.
Azusa Rock, a crushed-stone quarry 6.6 miles east on Mine Safety and Health Administration records, is the third aggregate site within reach of town. A truck that spends its weeks between these pits may be sitting at a yard in Irwindale rather than at your house; give us that address and a name for whoever controls the gate, and the collection is planned around it.
Construction is where much of this hauling ends up, and County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau counts 146 construction establishments in Arcadia. If your truck hauls for one of those contractors, give us the address of the lot where it is kept between jobs rather than the site it was last working.
Ramps at City of Industry and Commerce
Ten miles south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Los Angeles - City of Industry intermodal ramp at 10.4 miles from Arcadia, and the Commerce ramp 11.7 miles to the south-west. A day cab that pulls boxes off those ramps should come with its VIN, the odometer reading and a clear photo of the fifth wheel.
On the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Aurant Yard lies 8.6 miles south-west and the COI Intermodal Terminal Yard 10.3 miles south-east. Containers show up in local registrations too: FMCSA’s carrier census records 34 Arcadia carriers listing intermodal containers as cargo, so if yours is one of them, say which ramp or yard the tractor usually waits at.
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal at Montebello, 10 miles south-west. If your tractor has hauled fuel out of Montebello, include the tank trailer in your message or tell us it stays behind, so we know exactly what we are collecting.
Who is registered to haul in Arcadia
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 412 active carriers based in Arcadia, 190 of them listing general freight. The same FMCSA census lists 22 Arcadia carriers hauling passengers and 14 moving household goods. A bus, box truck or moving van is collected just like a tractor, so send photos of the body along with the cab.
Most of these operators stay inside California: the same FMCSA census counts 298 intrastate carriers against 112 that cross state lines, plus 73 private fleets hauling their own goods. For an intrastate truck, the California registration card and the title are the two documents to locate first.
Driver records point the same way, with FMCSA listing 300 drivers working within 100 miles and 417 beyond it. If your truck is out on a long run when you decide to sell, tell us where it will be parked when it returns and we can arrange the pickup there.
Small fleets
One-truck operators and small fleets
Arcadia is a town of small fleets: the three biggest on FMCSA’s carrier census run 29, 18 and 9 power units. Whether you are selling one unit or several, list each VIN with the address where it is kept, and we will take them on one visit or separately.
New operators keep arriving, with FMCSA recording 31 new carriers in 2024 and 30 in 2025. If you started up in those years and are now stepping back, have your USDOT number handy along with the title, since it helps confirm the truck and the registered owner match.
Of the Arcadia carriers that report annual mileage to FMCSA’s census, 101 in all, the middle figure is 51,391 miles for each truck. Read the odometer before you call and include it with the VIN; those two numbers start every conversation we have about a truck.
When 166 Arcadia-based trucks were stopped for inspection from September 2024 to August 2026, the middle model year on FMCSA roadside inspection records was 2019. Model year is printed on the title and the registration, so check that both match the VIN plate before you send photos.
Those FMCSA stops also found 11.45 percent of the inspected Arcadia trucks carrying a model year ten or more years back. Whatever the year of yours, keep the inspection reports and service records you have in one place; they travel with the truck when we collect it.
Jobs, bridges and farms around Arcadia
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 put 28,744 jobs in Arcadia, including 2,052 in manufacturing, 920 in wholesale trade, 901 in construction and 738 in transportation and warehousing. Trucks serving those employers often sit at a business address; if yours does, confirm we can reach it during working hours.
Getting a truck out of town is straightforward on federal records: the National Bridge Inventory lists 38 bridges in Arcadia, none load-posted and none under 14 feet of clearance. Tell us the street where the truck is parked and whether a tow rig can pull up alongside it.
Out in the wider county, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 766 farms in Los Angeles County, led by potted flowering plants, mushrooms and equine operations. A nursery delivery truck or a horse hauler from one of those farms is a truck we collect, so send the title with photos of the body as well as the cab.
The questions we get asked in Arcadia
- My dump truck stays at a contractor’s yard by the Irwindale Plant. Must it be brought into Arcadia for collection?Nobody has to move it: the Mine Safety and Health Administration places the Irwindale Plant 3.3 miles east of Arcadia, and we collect from the yard itself; send the yard address and a gate contact.
- What is the status of California’s clean truck rules for a truck I sell from Arcadia? The California Air Resources Board lists the Advanced Clean Fleets drayage and high priority fleet requirements as repealed, the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation as contested, and a federal court record shows enforcement of the 2036 zero-emission sales requirement paused.
- My tractor waits at the COI Intermodal Terminal Yard between loads; will you pick it up from that yard?We will, since the North American Rail Network shows that yard 10.3 miles south-east of Arcadia; tell us where on the property the tractor is parked and who can let us in.
