Sand, gravel and the Irwindale pits
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Durbin Plant, a sand and gravel operation, 1.1 miles north-west of Baldwin Park, and Irwindale Aggregates 2 miles north. If your dump truck or transfer rig spends its shifts between those pits and job sites, it may well be parked at a yard near the plants rather than at your home, so tell us the gate address and who holds the key.
Azusa Rock, a crushed-stone quarry, is 5.7 miles north-east of town according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. A truck that has loaded stone there should come to us with its title, current registration and any scale or service tickets you kept, plus photos of the bed, the frame and the cab.
City of Industry ramps and yards
South-east of town, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Los Angeles - City of Industry intermodal ramp 5.6 miles away. Day cabs that pull chassis off that ramp often park in a drayage lot between loads, and we can collect from that lot when the lot’s manager has our name on the gate list.
Two rail yards appear on the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics: COI Intermodal Terminal Yard at 5.5 miles and Rowland Yard at 6.4 miles, both south-east. Of the carriers registered in Baldwin Park, FMCSA’s carrier census shows 79 hauling intermodal containers, so if yours is one of them, send the VIN and the odometer reading first and we will work from there.
Tankers
Bulk liquid toward Montebello
Savage Service Corp, a liquid bulk terminal, is 9.9 miles south-west in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings. If your tractor pulled tank trailers to that terminal, list which trailers went with it and which stay with you, so the pickup covers only what you are selling.
The Energy Information Administration records a petroleum product terminal at Montebello, 10.1 miles south-west of Baldwin Park. Keep any terminal access cards, hazmat endorsements on file and inspection reports with the truck’s paperwork; they tell us where it has worked without a long phone call.
General freight, produce and reefer outfits in town
There are 972 active carriers based in Baldwin Park in FMCSA’s carrier census, with 416 listing general freight, 39 fresh produce and 38 refrigerated food. A reefer unit, a box truck or a tractor is something we buy, so tell us the make, model year and body type when you first get in touch.
Most of those outfits stay in California: FMCSA’s carrier census counts 790 as intrastate against 182 interstate, and 150 as private fleets hauling their own goods. Where the truck is registered and plated decides which records travel with it, so have the title and the current California registration ready before we schedule the collection.
New authorities keep appearing here too, with FMCSA’s carrier census recording 45 new carriers in 2024 and 33 in 2025. If you started a company recently and are now selling its only truck, a title in the company’s name plus a signature from whoever is authorised to sign for it is what we need.
Jobs, bridges and farm loads
Of 19,925 jobs located in Baldwin Park in 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 1,583 in manufacturing, 1,309 in transportation and warehousing, 928 in wholesale trade and 690 in construction. Those are the sectors whose box trucks, flatbeds and stake beds we see from the San Gabriel Valley, and a fleet selling several at once can send one list with every VIN on it.
Across the 37 bridges in and around town, the National Bridge Inventory shows none posted for load and none under 14 feet of clearance. A tow truck or lowboy can reach your street without detours, so all we need is the address and a note on where in the lot the truck sits.
Los Angeles County had 766 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with potted flowering plants, mushrooms and horses heading the list. If your truck hauled nursery stock or hay, mention the body type and whether a liftgate or reefer unit is fitted when you send photos.
The questions we get asked in Baldwin Park
- My dump truck is parked at a yard by the Irwindale gravel pits. Does it have to be driven into Baldwin Park for the sale? The truck stays in its Irwindale yard. The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Irwindale Aggregates 2 miles north of town, and we collect from the yard where the truck sits; give us the address and a contact who can open the gate.
- The California title for my Baldwin Park truck has gone missing; is the sale still possible?Yes, once a replacement is in hand. Apply for a duplicate through California’s state title agency, then send us a copy along with the registration so we can arrange the collection.
- My tractor pulls containers from the City of Industry ramp. Which numbers off the tractor should reach us before the photos? The VIN, the odometer reading and photos of the cab, frame and fifth wheel; the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places that ramp 5.6 miles south-east, and we can collect from your drayage lot nearby.
