On the bay
A fuel terminal just over a mile away
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal under the name EUREKA CA about 1.1 miles north-west of Bayview. Tankers and fuel delivery trucks that load there tend to sit close to home between runs, so tell us the street or yard where yours is parked and we will plan the collection at that spot.
If your tractor or straight truck has pulled product out of that terminal, gather whatever site sheets, fuel delivery logs or service records you kept, and add a set of clear photos of the cab, tank and tires.
North-east gravel
Crushers and gravel bars toward the hills
Hatchery Road Crusher, a sand and gravel operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies roughly 11.9 miles north-east of town, and CHRISTIE BAR, another gravel site on that federal register, is about 12.7 miles out in the same direction. Dump trucks and end dumps that shuttle aggregate from those pits often finish the day parked at the site or a nearby yard.
When a dump truck is still sitting out at a pit, send us the site name and the name of someone who can open the gate. Add the VIN, the box length and photos of the hoist and bed, and the pickup can be set up without you making the trip.
Crushed rock to the north-east
Ford Quarries and the rock trucks it draws
Ford Quarries, a crushed-stone quarry recorded by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, is about 14.1 miles north-east of Bayview. Tri-axle dumps, transfer trucks and lowboy tractors that move rock and equipment from a quarry like that are all trucks we buy.
For a quarry truck, the title and current registration matter most, followed by any maintenance log for the engine and the dump body. If a lowboy trailer goes with the tractor, say so up front and include its own paperwork.
Milk, cattle and hemp around Humboldt Bay
Around Bayview, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 721 farms across Humboldt County and names milk, cattle and hemp as its leading products. Milk tankers, livestock haulers, feed trucks and farm flatbeds all fit what we collect.
A truck that works a dairy or ranch usually stays on the property, sometimes down a gravel lane. Describe the access when you get in touch, note whether a gate code is needed, and we will meet the truck where it lives rather than asking you to haul it to town.
The DMV office on 6th Street in Eureka
Titles here are handled by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, whose Eureka field office stands at 2500 6th Street, roughly 3.2 miles from Bayview. If the title is missing or still shows an old lienholder, that DMV field office is where a duplicate or a transfer gets sorted.
Bring the VIN, your identification and any lien release to that office. Once the title is in your name, send us a photo of both sides along with the registration card.
Sacramento’s truck regulations
Contested and repealed: the clean-truck rulings Bayview owners ask about
California’s Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is listed by the state as contested, and the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation’s drayage, high priority and federal fleet requirements have been repealed.
Neither status changes what you need to sell a diesel truck from Bayview: a clean title, the registration, and good photos. If you are unsure how a rule touches your fleet, ask us and we will point you to the published notice.
