Pits west of the hills
Sand and gravel on both sides of the valley
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Edison Sand Pit 11.6 miles north-west of Bear Valley Springs and Solari Sand and Gravel 12.7 miles to the south-west. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that load at either pit are part of what we collect. Write down which pit your truck ran from, since that tells us which road we use to reach it.
A gravel truck kept at a pit gate rather than a home driveway can stay right where it is. Give us the pit’s name, a contact on site who can let a driver in, and photos of the bed, cab and VIN plate, and the pickup gets planned around that gate.
Kiln roads east
Tehachapi and Mojave cement routes
East of town, Tehachapi Cement, LLC. sits 15.8 miles away, and the Mojave Plant & Quarry is 23.3 miles out in the same direction, both on Mine Safety and Health Administration listings. Bulk pneumatic tankers and mixer trucks working those two plants fit the trucks we buy.
If your mixer or bulk tractor still sits in a yard near Tehachapi or Mojave, send the yard address with the title and current registration. Having the title holder’s name match the registration card keeps the paperwork side simple when our driver arrives.
Valley floor terminals
Bakersfield yards and the asphalt terminal
Two entries named BAKERSFIELD YARD appear on the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, at 22.1 and 24.6 miles north-west. Day cabs that shuttle loads to those rail yards from the mountain side are welcome here.
Around 25 miles north-west, the Energy Information Administration places the Bakersfield Asphalt Terminal. A tanker tractor that pulled asphalt or fuel from that terminal up toward Bear Valley Springs can be collected in the valley or up the hill, whichever is easier for you; just tell us the spot and who holds the keys.
Kern milk and cotton
Tankers and stock trailers off Kern County ranches
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,691 farms in Kern County, with milk, cattle and cotton as its top products. Milk tankers, cattle pots and the tractors pulling cotton module trailers all belong on our list.
Farm trucks often stay on the ranch between seasons. If yours is parked on a Kern County property, include the gate code or a phone number for whoever lives there, along with any service records kept in the shop.
Contractors on the mountain
Builders, jobs and the trucks inspected here
County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau records 61 construction establishments for this area, and the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put local employment at 493 jobs in 2023. Flatbeds, stake beds and small dump trucks owned by contractors are trucks we pick up from job sites and home lots alike.
FMCSA roadside inspection records cover 25 trucks stopped from 2024-09-26 through 2026-07-31, giving this mountain community a median model year of 2018 and a 28 percent share at ten years or older. Whatever year yours is, the VIN, title and a set of clear photos are what we ask for first.
