Richmond shoreline
Fuel terminals and rail yards to the north-east
The Energy Information Administration places the RICHMOND CA TERMINAL, a petroleum product terminal, 5.9 miles north-east of Belvedere, with a second Richmond product terminal 6.2 miles due east. A tractor that has hauled fuel out of either site is one we collect, so tell us which terminal it loaded at and give us the VIN when you first get in touch.
On the rail side, the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics shows WEST CHEVRON YARD at 6.3 miles and RICHMOND YARD at 6.7 miles, both north-east of town. If your day cab has shuttled between those yards and the terminals, it may be parked on the Richmond side when you decide to sell; give us that street address rather than a Belvedere one so the pickup goes to the right shore.
Have the title, the current registration and any service records in one folder before we arrange collection. Photos of the cab, the frame and the plate on the door help us match the truck to what you describe.
Docks and quarry
Point Potrero, the San Francisco piers and San Rafael stone
Six miles east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Port of Richmond’s Point Potrero Marine Terminal as a roll-on/roll-off terminal. The same federal agency records the San Francisco port 6.8 miles south and a further Richmond port 8.1 miles north-east. Car haulers and container chassis tractors that worked those wharves are trucks we buy; let us know if the unit is stored inside a gated port area, because we will need the gate contact to reach it.
To the north, San Rafael Rock Quarry appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records as a crushed-stone quarry 7.7 miles from Belvedere. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that hauled aggregate from it can be sold to us where they stand, whether that is a quarry lot or a driveway on the peninsula. Send the axle configuration and body length along with the photos.
Peninsula builders
Builders’ trucks on a small island town
Belvedere had 459 jobs in 2023 according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, and construction accounted for 84 of them, a share of 18.3 percent. Contractors here run flatbeds, stake bodies and small dump trucks up and down the narrow lanes, and any of those is a truck we will take off your hands.
If a builder’s truck is registered to a business, have the company officer who signs titles ready when we schedule the visit. A letter or resolution showing who may sign saves a second trip, and a list of attached equipment such as a lift gate or toolboxes keeps the description accurate.
Ranches north of the bay
Milk, cattle and horses beyond the hills
Belvedere sits at the tip of a county where USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture records 255 farms, and milk, cattle and equine lead what they produce. Milk tankers, livestock haulers and horse-trailer tractors from those ranches are all trucks we buy.
A ranch truck is often parked in a barn or a field gate rather than on a street, so describe the access when you contact us: gravel road, gate code, or a spot where a tow rig can turn. If the truck is titled to the ranch, bring the owner’s name exactly as it reads on the title.
A title replaced on Tamal Vista Boulevard
A missing title in Belvedere is replaced by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles. Its nearest DMV field office is Corte Madera, at 75 Tamal Vista Boulevard, Corte Madera, 94925, which is 4.9 miles from town.
Start the replacement there before we schedule collection, and keep the receipt the office gives you. If a lender is still shown on the title, ask that lender for a lien release and keep it with the registration card so both are in hand on the day.
Statewide engine mandates
Belvedere owners and the zero-emission rules
California’s Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is listed as contested. Alongside the California Air Resources Board’s clean-truck rulemaking, a federal court filing covers the 2036 100 Percent Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicle Sales Requirements, and for now enforcement is paused.
Belvedere owners can also note that the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation - Drayage Fleet Requirements and High Priority and Federal Fleets Requirements has been repealed. Whatever your truck’s engine year, we buy it here, and the registration card is the record that shows us how it is classed.
The questions we get asked in Belvedere
