Just 3.4 miles north-east of Bermuda Dunes, HJ Hove digs sand and gravel under a Mine Safety and Health Administration listing. A dump truck or end-dump that loads there may well be parked at the pit itself on collection day, so tell us who holds the gate key and when the site opens.
Dillon Road Pit, another sand and gravel site on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies 6.6 miles out in the same north-east direction. If your truck hauls aggregate from Dillon Road, send us a photo of the plate and the door sticker along with the VIN, and say whether it sits at the pit or at your home.
Mostly California plates, a few interstate rigs
Only 6 of the 48 Bermuda Dunes carriers active in FMCSA’s carrier census are authorised to cross the state line; the other 42 keep their freight inside California. For most sellers here that means a truck plated and titled in California, so the California title in your name is the first document to find.
Twelve of those 48 are private fleets in FMCSA’s carrier census, hauling their own goods rather than freight for hire. A contractor or landscaper selling one of those trucks should have the registration card and the business name on the title lined up before we talk.
Per FMCSA’s carrier census, the biggest operation in town runs 12 power units with 12 drivers, the next 6 units with 3 drivers, and a third 4 units with 2 drivers. Selling several trucks from a yard that size works the same as one: list each VIN, and we arrange the collection around where they sit.
Dry vans, roll-offs, lowboys and car haulers
General freight is the cargo 13 Bermuda Dunes carriers declare to FMCSA’s carrier census, so box trucks and tractors pulling dry vans make up a share of what is registered here. Send photos of the cab, the frame and the trailer coupling with the VIN.
Three local carriers list garbage, refuse and trash, another three list machinery and large objects, and three more list motor vehicles, according to FMCSA’s carrier census. Roll-offs, lowboy tractors and car haulers all fit that mix; tell us the body type and the equipment mounted on it, such as a hoist, a winch or a ramp.
Five carriers here report annual mileage to FMCSA’s carrier census, and their median is 20,000 miles per truck. Read the odometer off the dash when you contact us and include it with the VIN; nothing else is needed to start.
One job in four is in construction
Construction held 663 of the 2,565 Bermuda Dunes jobs the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts recorded for 2023, or 25.8 percent of the local total. Flatbeds, water trucks and dump bodies tied to job sites often finish the week on a site rather than in a driveway, so give us the site address and a contact there.
The same LEHD job counts from the Census Bureau place 92 jobs, or 3.6 percent, in agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting. If your truck belongs to one of those employers, the name on the title may be a company, and a signature from someone authorised to sell for it is what the transfer needs.
Dairies, mushroom houses and cotton fields
Milk leads the Riverside County farm sales list in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, ahead of mushrooms and cotton, across 2,424 farms countywide. Tankers, reefers and flatbeds that serve dairies or growers can be collected from the farm yard; tell us which gate to use.
Farm trucks are sometimes registered under a ranch or a family name rather than the driver’s own. Check whose name appears on the California title before you list the truck, and if it has been lost, the state’s title agency issues a replacement to the owner of record.
Recent sign-ups
New carriers in Bermuda Dunes
Bermuda Dunes added 2 carriers to FMCSA’s carrier census during 2024 and a single one during 2025. An owner-operator who started recently and now wants out of the truck can sell it to us with the title, the registration and a current photo set.
If the truck is still financed, tell us the lender’s name at the outset. A lien on the title is settled as part of the transfer, and the paperwork from the lender is what lets the title move to us.
The questions we get asked in Bermuda Dunes
- Our Bermuda Dunes company trucks haul our own materials, not freight for hire. Which documents should we pull together before selling one?Private fleets make up 12 of the 48 active Bermuda Dunes carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, and for each truck we need the title, the registration and the VIN. If the title is in the company’s name, someone authorised to sign for the company signs it over.
- My roll-off truck works the refuse routes. Would you take one of those off my hands?Garbage, refuse and trash is a cargo listed by 3 Bermuda Dunes carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, and roll-offs and refuse trucks are on our list. Send photos of the body, the hoist and the cab, with the VIN.
