Four aggregate sites inside eight miles of Bostonia
According to the Mine Safety and Health Administration, El Cajon Quarry, a crushed-stone operation, lies 4.8 miles south-east of Bostonia. Owners of end dumps or transfer trucks that have hauled rock out of that pit can send a photo of the bed and the tailgate along with shots of the cab.
Santee Aggregates is 6 miles north-west, and the same distance north is the Lakeside Vigilante Aggregates sand and gravel operation, both on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s register of mines. A truck that splits its week between Santee and Lakeside can stay parked at either yard; send the street address and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
Turvey’s Granite Pit, a sand and gravel site 7.8 miles east of town, appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records too. Owners hauling granite and fill from out there should keep the title and current registration in the cab or at home where they can find them, since those two papers are what the pickup driver checks first.
Construction jobs dominate the local count
Construction claims 914 of Bostonia’s 2,562 workplace jobs, a 35.7 percent slice, in the 2023 figures from the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Contractors’ dump trucks, flatbeds, water trucks and boom trucks belong to that trade, and a contractor selling one can send the VIN, the odometer reading and a few photos to start.
Manufacturing accounts for 243 of those jobs, or 9.5 percent, by the LEHD count from the Census Bureau, while wholesale trade adds 80, about 3.1 percent. Box trucks and straight trucks that run between shops and warehouses in east county fit that picture, and any service invoices you kept help us read a delivery truck’s history.
A small business owner in Bostonia with only one or two trucks is handled the same way as a contractor with ten. Tell us how many units you are selling and where each one sits, and we arrange collection truck by truck.
Fuel and the bay
The Mission Valley terminal and the San Diego port
The Energy Information Administration lists MISSION VALLEY, a petroleum product terminal, 10.4 miles west of Bostonia. Tankers loading there and fuel lube trucks that serve the quarries count among the trucks we buy; list the tank’s capacity and compartments when you write, and include any tank inspection certificates you hold.
Just under ten miles west, at 9.9 miles, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the San Diego Unified Port. Day cabs and sleepers that pull containers or flatbed loads off the waterfront can be collected from a yard near the bay or from your driveway in Bostonia, whichever is easier for you.
If the tractor last parked near the port while you live up in the hills, it does not need to come home first. Give us the yard’s address and a phone number for the person on site.
Hauling west toward Miramar’s gates
Marine Corps Air Station Miramar lies 9.2 miles west, and Mission Gorge Rec Area, also listed as a military installation, 8.9 miles west, per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Contractor trucks that have hauled to either site may have gate passes or site logs; those records travel well with the truck, though none are required to sell.
Whatever route your truck ran between Bostonia and the military sites west of it, the steps are the same: the title in your name, a registration card, photos of all four sides and the dash, and an address where the truck can be reached.
Greenhouse stock, cut flowers and the reefers that carry them
San Diego County held 4,031 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and its leading products were foliage plants, potted flowering plants, and cut flowers and cultivated greens. Refrigerated box trucks and stake beds that carry nursery stock out of county greenhouses are trucks we take on as well.
If your reefer unit has its own hour meter or service log, photograph it with the rest of the truck. Growers selling a farm-plated vehicle should check that the registration on the card matches the plate on the truck before we arrive.
Titles and California registration
A Bostonia owner whose title has gone missing should say so in the first message. Mention too whether the title still shows a lender, so we know which papers to expect.
A truck registered to a business needs a signature from someone authorized to sign for that business. Have the name on the title match the seller, or bring the paperwork that links the two.
The questions we get asked in Bostonia
- My end dump sits in the El Cajon Quarry lot; does it have to come down to Bostonia first?El Cajon Quarry is 4.8 miles south-east of Bostonia by the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s location, and we collect from the yard itself. Send the address and arrange for someone to open the gate.

Will you take the whole group of contractor trucks in one deal?Construction holds 914 of Bostonia’s 2,562 jobs in the Census Bureau’s LEHD counts for 2023, so contractors with more than one truck are a familiar seller here.
