Gravel at Bradshaw and Perkins, fuel at the Bradshaw terminal
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Bradshaw sand and gravel operation 5.7 miles south of Carmichael and the Perkins Plant 6.6 miles to the south-west. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that loads at either pit can be collected from the pit yard itself, so tell us which gate it sits behind and who holds the key.
Only 4.1 miles south, the Energy Information Administration places the BRADSHAW petroleum product terminal, with the SACRAMENTO TERMINAL a further stretch out at 11 miles west. If your tanker tractor is parked at a terminal lot, have the registration card and the latest inspection report in the cab before we arrive.
Further out, the Florin Plant mineral processing site is 10.2 miles south-west, and the GMcB Lincoln Pits & Mill industrial-mineral mine is 18.3 miles north, both on Mine Safety and Health Administration listings. A truck that splits its week between Florin and Lincoln can stay at whichever end is easier for you; send the address and a few photos of the cab and the bed.
Tractors around Davis Yard and Polk Yard
According to the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, DAVIS YARD lies 6.8 miles north of Carmichael and POLK YARD 8.4 miles south-west. Day cabs that shuttle between those yards and local docks are trucks we purchase, and the VIN plus the odometer reading is where the conversation starts.
If your tractor waits near one of the yards between moves, send a phone photo of the title and both sides of the registration so the paperwork is in order before anyone heads out to it.
Carmichael carriers and their in-state routes
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 254 active carriers based in Carmichael: 189 run intrastate, 63 run interstate, and 46 are private fleets moving their own goods. For an intrastate truck, the California registration and any state inspection paperwork are what we will ask to see.
General freight is the most common cargo, listed by 115 carriers in the FMCSA census, followed by motor vehicles at 27, fresh produce at 20 and refrigerated food at 18. A car hauler or reefer unit from one of those operations should come with its trailer or body details written down, since that shapes how we collect it.
FMCSA’s census logs 15 Carmichael carriers registered in 2025, up from 9 the year before. The three biggest fleets based here run 53, 28 and 24 power units in FMCSA’s carrier census, so a seller could be one owner-operator or a manager clearing several tractors at once; either way, list each VIN.
Model years and miles from roadside checks
Across 198 trucks inspected between August 2024 and August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspection records show a median model year of 2018, and 31.8 percent were ten or more years old. Whatever the year on yours, the title and the VIN plate are the two items that let us identify it.
Among the 43 carriers here reporting mileage to FMCSA’s census, the median truck covers 32,000 miles a year. Note the current odometer reading and keep any service records in one folder, so we can read the truck’s history alongside its photos.
Construction crews and the jobs behind them
Construction accounts for 1,169 of the 21,045 jobs counted in Carmichael for 2023, or 5.6 percent, in the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. The Census Bureau’s LEHD counts also show 170 jobs in transportation and warehousing, 142 in manufacturing and 120 in wholesale trade.
Around Carmichael, 157 construction establishments appear in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. A contractor with a flatbed, a water truck or a dump body sitting at a job site can leave it there; give us the site address and a contact on the ground.
Dairy, corn and cattle trucks from Sacramento County farms
The USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,118 farms in Sacramento County, with milk, corn and cattle as the leading products. Livestock haulers, feed trucks and bulk milk tractors that serve those farms can be collected at the ranch or dairy where they are kept.
Farm trucks often carry a title that has changed hands within a family. If the name on yours does not match the seller, or the title is lost, California’s title agency handles the transfer or a duplicate, and we can walk you through which form applies.
