Tank terminals a mile or two from the city
Titan Terminal and Transport, a liquid bulk terminal, sits 0.6 miles south-west of Cudahy according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and Ventura Transfer Company, another liquid bulk site, is 2 miles to the north-east. A tractor that has shuttled tank trailers between those gates can be collected from a yard next to either one. Give us the street address and the name of whoever holds the yard key.
Two petroleum product terminals appear in Energy Information Administration listings near Cudahy: VINVALE, 1.3 miles south-east, and VERNON, 3.9 miles north-west. If your tractor pulled fuel trailers between them, send the VIN, the title and a set of photos showing the cab, frame, fifth wheel and tires. If you kept hazmat inspection reports, send those along too.
Bell, Commerce and Hobart: rail on the north-east side
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, puts BELL YARD 2.4 miles north-east of Cudahy and COMMERCE YARD 2.8 miles in the same direction. Day cabs that run boxes out of those yards often sit between shifts on lots along the rail corridor. We can pick the truck up there; just tell us whether a gate pass is needed.
Of the 307 active carriers that FMCSA’s carrier census lists for Cudahy, 32 report hauling intermodal containers. The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Commerce intermodal ramp 2.7 miles north-east and the Los Angeles Hobart ramp 3.2 miles north. If your tractor worked those ramps, have the registration and any chassis or container interchange paperwork ready, and tell us whether a sleeper or a day cab is involved.
Dry vans, reefers and meat haulers on Cudahy registrations
General freight is the most common cargo line, with 127 Cudahy carriers listing it in FMCSA’s carrier census; refrigerated food and meat each show up on 11 registrations. A reefer unit or a dry van tractor is equally welcome. For a refrigerated truck, add the reefer unit’s make and hour reading to the photos you send.
Intrastate work dominates the local registrations: FMCSA’s carrier census counts 254 intrastate carriers against 53 interstate ones, plus 23 private fleets hauling their own goods. Most trucks we collect here will therefore be parked within California. A private-fleet truck titled to a business needs a signature from someone authorised to sign for that company, so line that person up before pickup.
From single tractors to multi-unit yards
Among the carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, the three with the most equipment run 44, 29 and 18 power units, with 48, 29 and 20 drivers respectively. Everyone else is smaller, and plenty are one-truck outfits. Whether you are selling one tractor or several from a yard, list each VIN and where each unit is parked.
Within 100 miles is the radius 194 drivers work, while 308 go beyond it, per FMCSA’s carrier census, and the 59 carriers reporting mileage put the median at 35,000 miles a truck. A truck that ranges far could be out of town when you decide to sell; tell us where it will be and we will plan the collection for that spot.
Twelve Cudahy outfits first registered in 2024 and seven more in 2025, going by FMCSA’s carrier census. If you started recently and are now selling, bring your title and registration; a lender’s lien release is needed if the truck was financed.
Factory floors and wholesale docks in Cudahy
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) record 3,953 jobs located in Cudahy in 2023, of which 276 were in manufacturing, 193 in wholesale trade and 184 in transportation and warehousing. A straight truck or box van making deliveries for a Cudahy plant or distributor is one we will take. Photos of the box interior and the liftgate help us understand the truck before we call.
Construction accounted for 55 Cudahy jobs in 2023 according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Dump trucks, flatbeds and service bodies from contractors are welcome too; tell us the body type and any equipment mounted on it, and send a photo of the body plate.
Potted plants, mushrooms and horses around the county
Los Angeles County held 766 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, led by potted flowering plants, then mushrooms, then horses. Trucks that move nursery stock or mushroom crops to market can be sold to us from the farm itself.
If a truck is parked on agricultural land outside Cudahy, give us directions to it and the name of a person on site. Have the title in the name of the farm or the owner, and include any registration renewal notices you have.
ACT contested, ACF drayage rules repealed
The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is listed as contested, and a federal court filing shows enforcement paused on the 2036 requirement that all medium- and heavy-duty sales be zero-emission. CARB’s own rulemaking page records the drayage, high priority and federal fleet requirements of the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation as repealed.
None of that changes what you need to sell a truck to us in Cudahy: a title in your name or your company’s, current registration, and photos. If you have CARB compliance paperwork for the truck, include it with the rest.
