Sell your semi truck for cash in Del Rey the easy and convenient way

Del Rey is a farm town of 1,654 people in Fresno County, per the Census Bureau, set between a Sanger gravel plant to the east and the Calwa rail yard to the west, and the trucks parked here haul produce, farm supplies and bulk liquids across the valley floor.

Sheds and yards

Mostly in-state outfits between Fresno and Sanger

Del Rey has 46 active motor carriers on FMCSA’s carrier census, and 40 of them run intrastate only, against 6 that cross state lines. For a seller that usually means the truck sits in a yard or beside a packing shed close to town rather than out of state, so give us the street address and a gate contact when you reach out.

Of those 46, FMCSA’s carrier census lists 14 as private fleets hauling their own goods rather than freight for hire. A grower or packer selling a truck it owns outright should have the title in the business’s name ready, along with the registration card and a signature from someone authorised to sign for the company.

The three biggest operations in town, as recorded by FMCSA’s carrier census, run 13, 9 and 5 power units with 11, 8 and 5 drivers. Whether you are parting with one tractor from a fleet that size or the only truck you own, send the VIN and a few photos of the cab, the frame and the plate so we can match the unit to its paperwork.

Orchard to cooler

Produce, farm supplies and general freight

General freight is the cargo most Del Rey carriers list, at 17 firms in FMCSA’s carrier census, with fresh produce close behind at 13. If your truck pulled produce trailers between orchards and coolers, tell us whether the trailer goes with it or stays, since that changes what we arrange to collect.

Eight local carriers declare farm supplies and five declare refrigerated food, according to FMCSA’s carrier census. With a reefer unit or a flatbed set up for fertilizer totes, list the body type, the reefer make if there is one, and any service records you kept for it.

Twelve carriers here report annual mileage to FMCSA’s carrier census, and their median works out to 23,333 miles per truck. Have the odometer reading handy when you call, alongside the VIN; we ask for those two first.

Wholesale trade and farm work in Del Rey

In 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts placed 255 of Del Rey’s 425 jobs in wholesale trade, three in every five positions in town. If your truck is parked at a distributor’s or packer’s address in town, let us know the hours the gate is open.

Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting add 64 jobs in town, or 15.1 percent of the total, by the same LEHD job counts from the Census Bureau. Out across the wider county, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture records 4,427 farms in Fresno County, with cattle, milk and cotton leading the list. A truck stored at a dairy or a ranch can stay where it is; a pin or a gate code is enough for us to find it.

Beside the packing trade, the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns tallies half a dozen construction firms near Del Rey. Dump trucks and water trucks from those outfits are trucks we buy too, and a photo of the body and the plate tells us most of what we need to start.

Sanger pits to the east, terminals to the west

About 5.1 miles east of Del Rey, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Sanger Aggregate Plant, an industrial-mineral mine, and 8.1 miles north-east sits the Sanger Plant sand and gravel operation. A tractor or end-dump truck that has hauled rock off those sites can be collected at the pit’s yard or your own, as long as you tell us which.

To the south-west, 4.4 miles out, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records Van-G Logistics as a liquid bulk terminal. Eight miles or so west, the Energy Information Administration lists the FRESNO petroleum product terminal at 8.3 miles. If your truck pulled a tank trailer to either, keep the trailer’s own registration separate from the tractor’s so each title can be handled on its own.

Ten miles north-west, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places Fresno Yosemite International ANG, a military installation, at 10.2 miles from town. Trucks that have worked base contracts need nothing special from you beyond the title and the registration in the seller’s name.

West of the orchards

Two rail yards off Del Rey’s west side

Heading west out of Del Rey, the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics puts Calwa Yard 9.5 miles away. Fresno Yard follows at 16.4 miles to the north-west on the North American Rail Network as well. A day cab that shuttled loads to either yard is a truck we will look at; send photos of the fifth wheel and the cab interior with the VIN.

For trucks kept near those yards rather than in Del Rey itself, there is no need to bring the truck back to town. Give us the location, tell us whether it can be reached by a tow rig, and we will plan the pickup around where it sits.

Thirty-one roadside checks, 2024 to 2026

Roadside checks of 31 trucks from Del Rey carriers, logged in FMCSA roadside inspection records between August 2024 and August 2026, put the median model year at 2016. Of those 31, FMCSA roadside inspection records show 38.7 percent were ten or more model years old.

Whatever the year of your truck, the model year printed on the title and the one on the registration should agree. Check both before you contact us, and if they differ, say so at the start.

Dinuba Avenue, Reedley, for a missing pink slip

Duplicate titles for Del Rey owners come from the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, and its nearest DMV field office is the Reedley office at 1890 E Dinuba Avenue, Reedley, 93654, about 9.7 miles from town. If the title is missing, start the duplicate request there before the sale so the paperwork is in hand when we collect.

California’s clean truck rules are in flux for sellers here. As of now, the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is under legal contest. For the state’s zero-emission sales requirement for medium- and heavy-duty trucks by 2036, enforcement is paused. The drayage, high priority and federal fleet parts of the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation have been repealed. Del Rey owners can sell a truck to us regardless of how those rules stand, with the title and registration in order.
