End dumps between Munn & Perkins and Hughson Aggregates
Munn & Perkins Pit & Mill, a sand and gravel operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s mine list, lies roughly 2.2 miles north-east of Del Rio. A dump truck or transfer rig that loads there may well be parked at the pit, at a shop off the county road, or behind the owner’s house when we come for it. Send us the address where it sits and a photo of the VIN plate on the door jamb.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration also lists Hughson Aggregates, a second sand and gravel site about 13.6 miles south-east toward Hughson. Owners who have hauled between the two pits can tell us which body the truck carries, end dump, belly dump or a ten-wheel bed, and have the registration card in hand when they call.
Riverbank to Modesto
Riverbank Yard east, Modesto Terminal Yard south
Riverbank Yard is about 4.5 miles east of Del Rio and the Modesto Terminal Yard about 7.7 miles south, both mapped in the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration keeps with the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. We collect a tractor that shuttles loads to either yard from the lot where it is kept.
If your rig has spent its life around those two yards, put the last service invoices in the cab with the title. Records from a local shop answer most of what we would otherwise ask over the phone, and they travel with the truck after the sale.
Container ramps west
Stockton, Lathrop and the depot sites
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists rail intermodal ramps at Stockton, around 13.7 miles north-west, and at Lathrop, about 15.1 miles west. Day cabs and sleepers that pull chassis off those ramps are trucks we buy, and a Del Rio owner may keep one at a ramp lot rather than at home.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places two military installations a little further out, Def Distr Reg West Sharpe Site at roughly 15.6 miles west and NG Lathrop near 16 miles north-west. If a truck is parked behind a gate at one of these or at a ramp, give us the name of the person who can let our driver in, so the pickup is set up with them in advance.
Feed and cattle haulers off the dairies
Around Del Rio, the farm economy is counted at the county level: USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture puts 3,455 farms in Stanislaus County, with milk, cattle and corn at the top of its sales list. Feed trucks, cattle haulers and silage rigs that serve those dairies are the kind of equipment we purchase, and we come out to the ranch or the yard to collect it.
A farm truck often has a plate and a title in the name of the ranch rather than a person. Have whoever signs for the operation ready to sign the title over, and tell us whose name sits on the registration before we arrange the pickup.
Del Rio plant jobs
Plant jobs close to home
Del Rio counted 324 jobs located in the community in 2023, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, and manufacturing made up about 15.4 percent of them, roughly one in seven. Box trucks and straight trucks that run between plants and warehouses are among the vehicles we collect, whether the owner is a one-truck operator or a small shop.
When a business sells a truck it owns, the person signing should be someone the business authorizes to sign for it. Have that name ready along with the title so the paperwork is settled on the day our driver arrives.
Del Rio titles go through the Modesto field office
From Del Rio, a 7.5-mile drive reaches the Modesto DMV field office at 124 Burney Street, Modesto, 95354, where the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles handles titles. If the title is missing, a duplicate can be requested there before you sell, and the agency’s title-transfer instructions are posted on the DMV website.
A truck still financed carries the lender’s name on the title. Ask the lender for a payoff letter and the release, and tell us about the loan at the start so the transfer at the Modesto office goes through without a second visit.
Advanced Clean Trucks, the 2036 sales rule and drayage
California’s Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is contested, according to the state air board’s announcement on amendments to its clean-truck standards. A separate 2036 requirement for zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty sales has its enforcement on hold, according to a federal court filing.
Del Rio drayage owners should also know the board’s rulemaking notice shows the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation - Drayage Fleet Requirements and High Priority and Federal Fleets Requirements has been repealed. Whatever its engine year, we take the truck as it is registered today, and you do not have to sort out these rules before calling us.
