Coyote Valley Aggregate, just south-west of town
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists 7/11 Materials - Coyote Valley Aggregate as a sand and gravel operation 3.5 miles south-west of Dixon Lane-MeadowCreek. Tandem dumps, end dumps and belly-dump tractors are the usual equipment around a pit like that, and if yours has spent its seasons hauling gravel out of Coyote Valley, it can stay parked near the pit when you contact us. Give us the yard or road it sits on and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
For a dump truck that has loaded at a gravel operation, the body matters as much as the cab. Send pictures of the bed, the hoist and the tailgate along with the tractor’s VIN plate and odometer, and tell us the body length; with those in hand our questions narrow to the few the photos cannot answer.
Fish Springs Quarry and the road south
Twenty-four miles south of town, according to Mine Safety and Health Administration records, Fish Springs Quarry is registered as an industrial-mineral mine. A tractor or a heavy straight truck that has hauled from that quarry might be kept closer to the site than to home, and either location suits us for collection.
If you keep the truck down near Fish Springs while living in Dixon Lane-MeadowCreek, you do not have to bring it north. Note which side road reaches it, whether a gate or a cattle guard sits on the way in, and a phone number for someone nearby who can meet the tow.
Inyo County counts 63 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and that survey ranks cattle first among the county’s farm products, ahead of equine and sheep. Ranch trucks here tend to be flatbeds for hay and fencing, straight trucks with stock racks, and tractors that pull livestock trailers, and all of those are trucks we collect.
Horses and sheep come second and third on that same USDA tally for the county. If your truck has pulled a horse or sheep trailer, tell us whether the trailer goes with the sale or stays on the ranch, and photograph the hitch, the gooseneck ball or the fifth wheel so we know how the two were coupled.
A ranch truck that only moves between pasture and corral may carry little paperwork beyond its title. That is fine; list what you have, whether a registration card, a brand inspection slip or a stack of service invoices from the feed season, and we will work from it.
A small working town in the valley
In a place that size a work truck is often owned by one person who runs a single rig, and the seller and the driver are frequently the same person standing beside it.
Owner-operators selling a single unit should have the title in their own name, or know whose name is on it. If a bank or a family member still appears on the certificate, mention that when you first reach us, and we will tell you what the state’s title agency needs to see before the truck changes hands.
California’s clean-truck rules, where they stand
The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is listed as contested, according to CARB’s own announcement of its amendments to the clean truck standards. Owners in Inyo County who have been waiting to see how that settles can still sell a diesel truck to us today.
A federal court record from the Eastern District of California shows enforcement paused on the 2036 requirement that all medium- and heavy-duty vehicle sales be zero-emission. Separately, CARB has repealed the Advanced Clean Fleets drayage requirements and the high-priority and federal fleet requirements under its 2025 rulemaking.
None of those three rules stops you from selling a diesel truck parked in Dixon Lane-MeadowCreek. Have the engine model year and the emissions label photographed, since those are the details anyone asking about California compliance will want to see first.
What to gather before we come out
If it has gone missing, a duplicate comes from the state’s title agency, and the request can begin while we are still talking about the truck. Keep the current registration with it, plus any inspection sheets or service records you have kept in the cab.
Photos do the rest: all four sides, the cab interior, the dash with the odometer showing, the VIN plate, and whatever body or bed sits behind the cab. Take them where the truck is parked, near the Coyote Valley pit, out toward Fish Springs, or on a ranch in the valley, and send the location with them.
