Gravel and stone pits on both sides of the valley
To the west, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Soiland Co., Inc., a crushed-stone quarry 13.3 miles from El Verano, and Roblar Quarry LLC, a sand and gravel operation 16.9 miles out. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that runs between those pits and Sonoma Valley job sites is the kind of unit we collect, and it can stay parked at the yard where it works while we arrange pickup.
Mark West Quarry, which the Mine Safety and Health Administration places 19.7 miles north-west, and the Napa Quarry industrial-mineral mine 12 miles east round out the pits around town. If your truck is kept at one of these sites, tell us the gate it sits behind and who can let us in, and have the title and current registration in the cab or in hand.
Builders and farm crews in El Verano
Construction holds 102 of El Verano’s 553 jobs in 2023, an 18.4 percent slice by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, in this Sonoma Valley town. Contractors here tend to own flatbeds, stake beds, water trucks and small dumps; send us a photo of the door plate with the VIN and one of the odometer, and we can start from there.
Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting account for another 53 of those 2023 jobs, or 9.6 percent, on the same LEHD figures. A farm truck parked at a ranch gate or behind a barn is fine where it stands; give us the road address and say whether a tow truck can turn around on the property.
Milk, herds, blooms
Dairy, cattle and cut flowers across the county
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 3,097 farms in Sonoma County, with milk, cattle, and cut flowers and cultivated greens as its leading products. Milk tankers, livestock haulers and refrigerated box trucks from those operations all fit what we buy around El Verano.
For a dairy or ranch truck, gather the title, the registration card and any service log the farm kept before you call. If the title is held by a lender or listed under a ranch business name, say so up front so the right person signs.
Napa sidings, Crockett tanks
Yards at Napa and the terminal toward the bay
NAPA YARD lies 11.4 miles east of El Verano and LOMBARD YARD 14.4 miles south-east, both listed in the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Trucks that shuttle freight to and from those rail sidings can be picked up at the yard lot or at your shop, whichever is easier to reach.
Farther out, a petroleum product terminal at SELBYCROCKETT sits 21.7 miles south-east according to the Energy Information Administration, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the port at Richmond, CA, 24.9 miles south. If a fuel tanker or container chassis tractor of yours is based near Crockett or Richmond, we travel there and collect it where it is based; it does not need to come back to Sonoma Valley first.
Pink slip in hand
Getting a Sonoma Valley truck’s title and registration ready
A California title in the seller’s name and the current registration are the two papers we ask for first. If the title has gone missing, the state’s title agency issues a replacement, and starting that request before the truck is collected keeps the paperwork in step with pickup.
Service records, scale tickets or inspection reports help us understand what the truck has done on the quarry and farm routes around El Verano. Clear photos of the cab, frame, tires and any body or trailer complete the picture.
