Vigilante, Santee, Turvey’s
Vigilante Aggregates and the Lakeside gravel
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists LAKESIDE - VIGILANTE AGGREGATES as a sand and gravel operation 1.5 miles north of Eucalyptus Hills. A tandem dump or transfer rig that has hauled out of that pit can usually be collected right where it sits, whether that is a driveway on a hillside lot or a yard near the plant gate. Tell us the street and whether a tow truck can turn around there.
Santee Aggregates, a crushed-stone quarry 4.9 miles west according to federal mine safety records, and El Cajon Quarry, 8.9 miles to the south-east on the same MSHA list, ring the town with rock work. If your truck moved base or crushed stone between those sites, gather the title, the current California registration and any scale or service tickets you kept, then send photos of the bed, the hoist and the cab.
Farther out, Turvey’s Granite Pit appears in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s register as a sand and gravel operation 7.7 miles east. If your truck is parked out at that pit, leave it there; give us the pit’s address and the name of someone who can let a driver through.
Hillside contractors
Eucalyptus Hills crews and their flatbeds
Construction held 136 of the 381 jobs located in Eucalyptus Hills in 2023, or 35.7 percent, on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. For a seller, that points to flatbeds, stake beds, water trucks and dump bodies kept at home between jobs. Have the VIN and the odometer reading ready when you first get in touch.
A contractor winding down a crew here can sell several units together. List each truck with its body type and where it is parked, and we will plan one collection around the hillside streets rather than a separate visit for each.
Base and port
Miramar air station, Mission Gorge and the Unified Port
Marine Corps Air Station Miramar lies 8.2 miles west of town, and the Mission Gorge Rec Area another military installation 10.3 miles south-west, both on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ list of installations. A box truck or tractor that served contracts on either site is something we purchase; keep any gate pass or site paperwork with it so the history travels with the truck.
Down at the water, the San Diego Unified Port sits 11.5 miles south-west on BTS port records, and the Energy Information Administration places the MISSION VALLEY petroleum product terminal 12.1 miles away in the same direction. A tanker or day cab that ran fuel or freight from those points can be picked up in a terminal lot as easily as at your home; just tell us whose lot it is.
Foliage and cut flowers
Nursery and flower trucks across the county
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 4,031 farms in San Diego County, with foliage plants, potted flowering plants and cut flowers and greens as the top lines. Reefer box trucks and stake beds that carried nursery stock from those growers belong on our list, so photograph the reefer unit and the body along with the cab.
Growers in the backcountry often keep a spare truck at the farm itself. If that is where yours is, send the farm’s address and a gate contact, and include the title and the reefer service records if you have them.
Air Resources Board rulings
California’s truck rules in 2026
The California Air Resources Board has repealed the Advanced Clean Fleets drayage and high-priority fleet requirements, according to its own rulemaking notice. Enforcement of the 2036 zero-emission sales requirement is paused under a federal court filing in the Eastern District of California.
The Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation itself remains contested, with the Air Resources Board having approved amendments to it. None of that changes what a seller in Eucalyptus Hills needs to hand over: a title in your name, the registration, and photos of the truck.
Duplicate titles
A lost title from an east county home
A missing title is handled through California’s title agency, not through us; apply for the duplicate there and tell us it is on the way when you first contact us. If a bank once held the title, ask it for the lien release and keep it with the paperwork.
Owners living around Eucalyptus Hills sometimes keep a truck registered to a business in El Cajon or Santee. Make sure the name on the title matches the seller, or have the officer of that business sign for it.
