Thirty-one small carriers on Ladera Ranch addresses
Of the 31 active carriers with a Ladera Ranch base in FMCSA’s carrier census, 24 hold authority to haul inside California alone. A truck from one of those outfits has probably spent its working life on California roads, so its paperwork should be California paperwork: the title, the current registration card and any smog or inspection slips kept in the cab.
Seven of the Ladera Ranch carriers hold interstate authority, according to the same FMCSA census, and six run as private fleets moving their own goods rather than freight for hire. If your tractor belongs to a private fleet, tell us which business owns it on paper; the person or company named on the title is the one who signs it over to us.
Drivers working for these carriers split by radius: the federal census counts 21 driving within 100 miles of home and 41 going further. A long-radius truck may be parked anywhere when you decide to sell, so give us the street address or yard where it actually sits today and we arrange collection there.
Dry vans, meat haulers and furniture boxes
General freight is the most common cargo line, claimed by 12 of the town’s carriers in FMCSA’s census. Those tend to be dry vans, box trucks and flatbed tractors; send us the VIN, the cab and axle setup and clear photos of each side of the unit.
Refrigerated food and meat each show up on three Ladera Ranch carrier registrations, per the federal motor carrier records. If you are selling a reefer tractor or a straight truck with a refrigeration unit, list the unit’s make and hour meter reading alongside the truck itself, since the two are documented separately.
Three local carriers are registered by FMCSA to move household goods, the furniture and box vans that serve residential moves around Orange County. For a moving van, a photo of the box interior and the liftgate or ramp tells us its layout far better than a written description.
Power units per carrier
One twenty-truck fleet, then owner-operators
The top fleet on a Ladera Ranch address in FMCSA’s census runs 20 power units with 18 drivers, and the next two run 6 units with 3 drivers and 4 units with 3 drivers. Every other carrier on the census here is smaller still, so expect to deal with us directly as the owner, title in your own hand.
Eight carriers here report annual mileage to FMCSA, and their median is 29,998 miles per truck a year. Write the odometer reading down from the dash when you contact us and include a photo of it; that figure goes on the bill of sale and the title transfer.
Quarries just east of town
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Orange County Operation, an industrial-mineral mine, 4.3 miles south-east of Ladera Ranch, and Greenstone Materials Quarry, a sand and gravel pit, 5.6 miles to the east. Dump trucks, transfer trailers and water trucks that work pits like these can be collected on site, provided someone with gate access meets us.
Further out, MSHA records place the Maitri Canyon Plant sand and gravel operation 16.5 miles north-east, Pacific Clay Pits 18.8 miles north-east and the 3M Corona Plant crushed-stone quarry 22 miles away in the same direction. If your truck is parked at one of those sites, give us the site contact and the hours the gate is open so the pickup fits their schedule.
Huntington Beach tanks, Orange racks and Pendleton
Two petroleum product terminals appear on the Energy Information Administration’s list north-west of town: the Orange terminal at 22.2 miles and the Huntington Beach Terminal at 23.2 miles. Fuel tankers come with their own records, so keep the tank inspection certificates and the most recent test dates with the title when you sell.
Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton lies 18 miles south-east, as listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Is your truck kept in a yard near the base gate between deliveries? Give us that yard’s address and we collect it there, with no trip back up to Ladera Ranch first.
Site crews, warehouse jobs and Orange County horse farms
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 3,978 jobs in Ladera Ranch in 2023, with 143 of them in construction, 96 in wholesale trade and 64 in transportation and warehousing. Contractors who own a dump truck, a stake bed or a service body can sell it as a business asset; bring the company name exactly as it reads on the title.
Across Orange County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 158 farms, led by equine, honey and cut flowers and cultivated greens. Horse trailers pulled by medium-duty trucks and flower haulers with small reefer boxes both come up from farms like these, and a farm-plated truck should still have its registration card with it.
CARB’s clean-truck rules as of this writing
The California Air Resources Board has repealed its Advanced Clean Fleets requirements for drayage, high-priority and federal fleets, and its Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is listed as contested. Selling a diesel tractor out of Ladera Ranch involves the same steps either way: a signed title, the registration and a bill of sale.
A federal court filing shows enforcement paused on the board’s zero-emission sales requirement for medium- and heavy-duty trucks. If your title has gone missing, request a duplicate from the state’s title agency before we schedule the collection, and keep the lienholder release with it if the truck was ever financed.
The questions we get asked in Ladera Ranch
- Our dump truck sits at the Greenstone pit off to the east; does it have to come into Ladera Ranch first?Greenstone Materials Quarry is 5.6 miles east of town on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and we collect from pits like it directly. Pass along the quarry contact’s name and when the Greenstone gate opens.
- I run a small reefer outfit from Ladera Ranch. Will you take a reefer straight truck off my hands?Three carriers here are registered with FMCSA for refrigerated food and three for meat, and reefer tractors and straight trucks are part of what we purchase. Send the truck’s VIN plus the refrigeration unit’s make and hours.
- The truck is registered to my business, not to me. Whose signature goes on the Ladera Ranch transfer?Six of the 31 Ladera Ranch carriers in FMCSA’s census run as private fleets, and in each case the company named on the title signs it over. Have an officer of that business sign, and bring the registration in the same name.
- The pink slip for my Ladera Ranch truck has gone missing; where do I start?California’s title agency issues duplicate titles to the registered owner, so apply there first and keep the lienholder release with it if the truck was financed. Once the duplicate arrives, send us a photo of it with the VIN visible.
