Trucks that served the Oceanview workings
Oceanview Mine, an industrial-mineral operation that the Mine Safety and Health Administration records 16.3 miles south-west of Lake Riverside, is the nearest mine site to town. A dump truck or water truck that has hauled to that site may still be parked at a shop off the mountain road rather than at your house, so tell us exactly where it sits and whether a lowboy or a tow rig can reach it.
Owners who ran trucks on mine routes often keep loading tickets, scale slips or site access cards in the cab. Leave them there, along with the registration card, and take a photo of the VIN plate and the odometer before you call.
North-west, toward Hemet
Juniper Flats gravel and the hauling around it
Juniper Flats, a sand and gravel operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies 23.9 miles north-west, roughly the same heading a Lake Riverside driver takes toward Hemet. Tandem dumps, transfer rigs and belly-dump tractors are the usual equipment around a pit like that, and any of them is a truck we will look at.
If your rig worked between the pit and job sites in the valley, send a few clear photos of the bed, the frame rails and the cab interior along with a note on what it hauled. Knowing the body type up front lets us send the right trailer for the pickup.
Fourteen-odd miles south-east
Warner Springs and the roads into San Diego County
South-east of Lake Riverside, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Warner Springs Rts military installation 14.7 miles out. Service trucks, flatbeds and box trucks that supported work along that corridor end up parked on ranch lots and in side yards up here, and we collect from both.
Give us the gate code or the name of whoever can open the property, and say whether the ground is dirt or paved. A truck parked on a gravel lot is one we still collect; tell us what equipment the access calls for.
Dairy, mushrooms, cotton
Farm trucks from across the valley floor
Riverside County counted 2,424 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and milk, mushrooms and cotton led its sales. Milk tankers, refrigerated box trucks and cotton module haulers are the kinds of equipment that harvest list puts on county roads.
A farm truck often carries ag plates or has spent years registered to a family operation. Have the title in the name of whoever is signing, or a note on who holds it, and we will work through the transfer with you from there.
For a lost title, the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles handles replacements through its DMV field offices, and the nearest one to Lake Riverside is the Hemet office at 1200 S State St, Hemet, 92543, about 17.1 miles away. Bring your ID and the VIN, and ask for a duplicate certificate of title before you schedule a pickup.
If the title is in a lender’s name or still lists a lienholder, a lien release from that lender goes with the paperwork. Telling us about either at the first call keeps the sale from stalling at the signature.
State rules in flux
Where California’s truck rules leave a Lake Riverside diesel
The Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is contested, and enforcement is on hold for the state’s zero-emission sales requirement covering every new medium- and heavy-duty truck. A diesel tractor parked in Lake Riverside can still be sold to us today.
The Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation - Drayage Fleet Requirements and High Priority and Federal Fleets Requirements have been repealed. A Lake Riverside owner with a diesel truck sells it on the same terms as any other truck we buy.
The questions we get asked in Lake Riverside
- Is Lake Riverside inside your pickup area for a rig?Lake Riverside lies between Hemet and the Warner Springs area, and we collect trucks from ranch lots and homes here. Send the street address plus a word on gates, grades or soft ground at the spot.
- Do you buy dump trucks that hauled from local mines and pits?Oceanview Mine and Juniper Flats, both on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, are within 24 miles of town, and dump trucks and gravel haulers from sites like them are trucks we purchase.
- Can I sell a milk tanker or reefer box truck from a Riverside County farm?Milk and mushrooms lead Riverside County’s farm sales in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and the tankers and refrigerated trucks that serve them are trucks we buy. Keep the farm’s title and the current registration card with the truck for pickup day.
