Sand, gravel and clay pits around Las Flores
Just 4.9 miles east of Las Flores, Greenstone Materials Quarry is on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s rolls as a sand and gravel operation. Dump trucks, transfer rigs and end dumps that load at a pit that close may be parked on the quarry side of town when you contact us, so give us the exact yard or street where the truck sits.
About 5.4 miles to the south-east, the Orange County Operation appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records as an industrial-mineral mine. If your truck hauled from that site, have the title and current registration in your name before we schedule a collection, and tell us whether a gate code or escort is needed to reach it.
The north-east corridor toward Corona
Further north-east, the Mine Safety and Health Administration places MAITRI CANYON PLANT, another sand and gravel operation, 14 miles from town, and Pacific Clay Pits, an industrial-mineral mine, 16.5 miles out. A tractor or dump body that splits its weeks between those two sites and a home driveway in Las Flores can be collected at either end; pick whichever spot lets us load it without blocking a haul road.
The 3M CORONA PLANT, a crushed-stone quarry the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists 19.4 miles north-east, rounds out the aggregate sites within twenty miles. For a quarry truck, send photos of the cab, the bed or trailer, the VIN plate and the odometer when you first write to us.
Twin yards
Two Corona rail yards, a tenth of a mile apart
Two rail yards sit almost side by side to the north: CORONA YARD at 20.8 miles and WEST CORONA YARD at 20.9 miles, on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs that shuttle loads to those yards from south Orange County are trucks we buy, and so are the chassis and trailers they pull.
If your rig is parked near the Corona yards rather than at home in Las Flores, leave it there. Send us the address, the name of whoever controls the lot and a phone number for the person who can hand over the keys, and we plan the pickup around that spot.
Toward the base
Camp Pendleton to the south-east
Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is a military installation 19.2 miles south-east of Las Flores in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings. A contractor’s truck that works on or around the base should be moved outside any controlled gate before collection, since our driver needs to reach it without a base pass.
Owners who live in Las Flores but keep a truck closer to the base can sell it without bringing it north. Have the title, the registration card and any service records gathered in one place, and tell us which side of the base the truck is on.
Las Flores work and Orange County farm trucks
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 658 jobs in Las Flores in 2023, a small base in a mostly residential place. Box trucks, service bodies and pickups registered to owners here are as welcome as the heavier aggregate rigs; tell us the body type and the make when you first get in touch.
Across Orange County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 158 farms, with equine, honey and cut flowers among the leading products. Horse trailers’ tow rigs, stake beds that carry hives and refrigerated units that move cut greens all fit what we collect, wherever on the property they are parked.
The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Fleets drayage and high-priority fleet requirements are listed as repealed, and its Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is shown as contested. Neither status changes what we need from you: a title in your name and the truck’s location.
A federal court filing from the Eastern District of California shows enforcement of the 2036 zero-emission sales requirement for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles as paused. If you are weighing whether to keep a diesel tractor in Las Flores while those rules settle, the paperwork to sell it stays the same: title, registration and the keys.
