Calwa Yard to the south, Fresno Yard to the west
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration with the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places Calwa Yard 4.6 miles south of Mayfair and Fresno Yard 4.9 miles west. A day cab that shuttles freight between those two yards may well be parked near one of them when you decide to sell, and that is fine: give us the street address of the lot and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
Calwa and Fresno Yard sit in opposite directions from the neighborhood, so say which one the tractor worked out of when you first call. Have the California title and current registration in hand, and photograph the cab, the frame and the fifth wheel so the pictures show what the truck is today.
South Fresno fuel rack
The petroleum terminal and the liquid bulk dock
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal named Fresno 6.6 miles south of Mayfair. Tractors that have pulled fuel tankers from that rack are part of what we buy; keep any site inspection sheets or tank certification papers with the title, since they tell the truck’s story better than a phone call.
Farther out, 13.2 miles to the south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records Van-G Logistics as a liquid bulk terminal. If your tractor served that dock and the Fresno rack both, list them together on one note, along with the VIN and the odometer reading, and every follow-up question will be about your truck rather than its route.
Rockfield, Sanger, Academy
Sand, gravel and Academy Black stone north and east of Mayfair
According to the Mine Safety and Health Administration, the Rockfield Plant sand and gravel operation lies 11.2 miles north of Mayfair and the Sanger Plant 15.7 miles east. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that cycle between those pits often stay parked on site; if yours is there, tell us so we can arrange access with the operator rather than ask you to move it.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration also lists Academy Black, a dimension-stone quarry 15.5 miles to the north-east. For a truck that hauled stone, send photos of the deck, the tie-down points and the tires as well as the cab, plus the registration card and any service receipts you kept.
County farm loads
Livestock, dairy and cotton trucks from Mayfair’s farm county
Fresno County had 4,427 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and cattle, milk and cotton led its listed products. Livestock haulers, milk tankers and module trucks that serve those operations are trucks we collect, whether they sit in a barnyard, a gin yard or a driveway in Mayfair.
A farm truck sometimes carries a title still in a ranch or family name. If the name on the title is not yours, or the paper is lost, the state’s title agency issues a duplicate or handles the transfer; start that before you call and tell us where it stands.
Repealed, paused and contested: CARB truck rules for a Mayfair seller
The California Air Resources Board’s rulemaking page records the Advanced Clean Fleets drayage, high priority and federal fleet requirements as repealed. A federal court filing in the Eastern District of California shows enforcement of the zero-emission truck sales requirement paused, and CARB’s own news release on the Advanced Clean Trucks amendments leaves that rule contested.
None of that changes what you need to sell a tractor from Mayfair: the title, the registration, the VIN and a set of clear photos. If an engine label or emissions sticker is on the truck, include a picture of it with the rest.
By the Guard base
Collecting a truck near the air base
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Fresno Yosemite International Air National Guard installation 2.7 miles east of Mayfair. A truck parked in a yard on that side of the neighborhood stays put for collection; nobody has to move it first.
Give us the exact spot, whether a trailer is still hooked up, and a phone number for whoever can open the lot. If you have already moved out of Fresno, leave the truck where it is and finish the sale from wherever you live.
The questions we get asked in Mayfair
- Will you collect a tractor sitting on a lot beside Calwa Yard instead of having me haul it up to Mayfair?Calwa Yard is 4.6 miles south of Mayfair on the North American Rail Network, and we collect from lots around it. Send the address and a gate contact so the pickup is arranged with whoever runs the lot.
- Would you take the dump truck I used on Rockfield Plant gravel runs?Rockfield Plant is a sand and gravel operation 11.2 miles north of Mayfair in Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and dump trucks from pits like it are on our list. Pass along its VIN, the California title and pictures showing the dump body and chassis rails.
- My Fresno County farm truck’s title has gone missing; which office issues a new one?Fresno County’s 4,427 farms, counted in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, keep plenty of older paperwork in drawers, and the state’s title agency issues a duplicate title. Begin that request and tell us when you contact us.
- Does any CARB fleet rule block a Mayfair owner from selling a diesel tractor now?CARB’s rulemaking record lists the Advanced Clean Fleets drayage and high priority fleet requirements as repealed, so a Mayfair owner sells with the usual title, registration and VIN.
