Three sites near Peck Road
Gravel pits half a mile from the village
The Peck Road Gravel Pit, a sand and gravel operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies 0.5 miles south-east of Mayflower Village. A dump truck or transfer rig that has spent its shifts hauling out of that pit can be collected from the yard where it is kept between loads; send the address and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
East of town by 1.7 miles, the Irwindale Plant appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records as another sand and gravel operation. If your tractor or tandem dump has worked both pits, photograph the bed, the tailgate and the cab, and keep the title and current registration together so the paperwork is ready when we call back.
Azusa Rock, a crushed-stone quarry that the Mine Safety and Health Administration places 5.6 miles north-east, rounds out the aggregate sites close to the village. Tell us which of these three sites your quarry truck served and attach any service records you kept.
Ramps south-east
Intermodal yards toward City of Industry
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Los Angeles - City of Industry rail intermodal ramp 8.6 miles south-east of Mayflower Village. A day cab or sleeper that pulls boxes off that ramp is a truck we purchase, and the VIN plus an odometer photo is the first thing to send.
According to the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the COI Intermodal Terminal Yard sits 8.5 miles out and Rowland Yard 9.4 miles out, both to the south-east. A tractor that is parked at one of those yards does not have to come home first; give us the yard name and a contact there and the pickup is planned on site.
Tank work at Montebello and beyond
Ten miles south-west, the Energy Information Administration records a petroleum product terminal at Montebello. Tank tractors and fuel straight trucks that load there are on the list of what we collect; note whether the trailer is part of the sale or stays behind, and send photos of each.
Savage Service Corp, a liquid bulk terminal, is 11.2 miles south of the village by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ figures. If your tractor has shuttled between that terminal and the Montebello rack, keep any site inspection reports with the title; they show where the truck has been.
Village building trades
Eighty construction jobs and the trucks behind them
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) put 416 jobs in Mayflower Village in 2023, with Construction holding 80 of them, a 19.2 percent share. A pickup-class work truck, a flatbed or a small dump tied to that building work can be sold from the job site or the driveway where it is parked.
On a construction crew’s truck, the titled owner and the crew member at the wheel can be two different people. Check the name on the title against the name on the registration before you contact us. If they differ, tell us at the start and we will ask the right questions about who signs.
Potted plants and horses
Nurseries, mushrooms and horse farms in the county
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 766 farms in Los Angeles County, where potted flowering plants, mushrooms and equine top the list. Box trucks that move nursery stock and stake beds that serve horse properties belong among the trucks we buy here.
A nursery or stable truck often sits on farm ground rather than a paved lot, so tell us how the property is reached and whether a gate or a low branch is in the way. Photos of the cargo box or the stake sides, along with the cab, give us a full picture.
Fleet rules, Los Angeles County
Where the CARB truck rules stand for village owners
The California Air Resources Board’s rulemaking record shows the Advanced Clean Fleets drayage and high-priority fleet requirements as repealed, while the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is listed as contested. Owners of container tractors working the City of Industry ramps can sell without waiting for those rules to settle.
A federal court filing on govinfo.gov records enforcement of the zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty sales requirement as paused. Whatever the status of these rules, the papers that matter for a sale in Mayflower Village are the title, the registration and any inspection or service records you hold.
