Gravel and stone hauled out of the foothills
Five miles south-west of town, the Rockfield Plant is a sand and gravel operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list of active sites. A dump truck or end-dump that has run loads out of Rockfield can be collected right where it is parked, whether that is the pit, a yard or your driveway; give us the address and tell us if the gate is locked.
Going west for 10.8 miles brings you to Austin Quarry, a crushed-stone pit, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration also records Academy Black, a dimension-stone quarry 9.5 miles south-east. Trucks hauling cut stone or crushed rock from either one usually carry a body or trailer that deserves its own photos, so send pictures of the bed, the hoist and the cab together.
Further out, the Mine Safety and Health Administration shows the Sanger Plant, a sand and gravel site 20 miles south-east, and Sierra White, a dimension-stone quarry 20.3 miles north-west. If your truck is sitting at one of those sites rather than in Millerton, that is fine; we plan the pickup around the truck’s location.
Valley rail yards
Yards to the south toward Fresno
Down on the valley floor, FRESNO YARD lies 16.8 miles south-west and CALWA YARD 19.6 miles due south, both mapped in the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. Tractors and day cabs that have shuttled freight between those yards and the valley often stay parked near them, so tell us which yard is closer to where yours sits.
Heading south 14.4 miles, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists Fresno Yosemite International ANG as a military installation. If your truck is stored on a lot near the airport side of Fresno, have the registration and the keys in one place before we arrange the visit, and let us know about any access rules at the lot.
Clovis DMV
A lost pink slip goes through Clovis
A Millerton owner whose title is lost deals with the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, which issues titles at its DMV field offices. For Millerton sellers, the DMV lists its Clovis field office at 2103 Shaw Avenue, Clovis, 93611, 11.6 miles away, and that is where a duplicate title can be requested if the original has gone missing.
Start that request before you list the truck with us, and keep the registration card and any lien release together with it. A truck whose ownership papers are complete is one we can move ahead on without waiting on a second trip to Shaw Avenue.
A young local fleet
Inspection stops near Millerton, 2025 to 2026
Some 49 trucks linked to Millerton were stopped and checked from January 2025 through August 2026, and FMCSA roadside inspection records put their median model year at 2024. Only 2.04 percent of them, by those same inspection records, were ten or more model years old.
Whatever the model year of yours, the details that help most are the VIN, the engine make, the transmission type and the current odometer reading. Send those along with clear photos of each side of the truck, and we can talk about it with the same picture of it that you have.
Cattle ground and small builders
Cattle, milk and cotton on the valley floor
Below Millerton’s foothills, the 4,427 Fresno County farms counted in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture are led by cattle, then milk, then cotton. Livestock haulers, feed trucks, milk tankers and module trucks used on that ground are all trucks we buy, and a farm truck can be collected straight from the ranch or the shop where it is kept.
Dump trucks, water trucks and flatbeds from small builders like these are welcome too; if the truck has a plow mount, a tool box or a crane fitted, mention it so it is part of the conversation from the first call.
California clean truck regulations in Millerton
The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation currently has a contested status. A federal court record shows that for the state’s rule requiring all medium- and heavy-duty sales to be zero-emission by 2036, enforcement is on hold.
Millerton owners should also know that the Advanced Clean Fleets requirements for drayage, high priority and federal fleets have been repealed. None of these rules stops you from selling a diesel truck to us today; just have the title and registration ready.
The questions we get asked in Millerton
- My end-dump is still parked at a gravel pit outside Millerton; can you collect it there?Rockfield Plant, Austin Quarry and Academy Black all sit within about 11 miles of town on Mine Safety and Health Administration listings, and we collect from sites like those. Tell us which pit holds the truck and who can open the gate on the day.
- My title went missing; which office do Millerton owners use?The Clovis DMV field office at 2103 Shaw Avenue, 11.6 miles from Millerton, is run by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles and handles duplicate title requests.
- Will you take a cattle hauler or milk tanker off a Fresno County ranch?Cattle, milk and cotton lead the 4,427 Fresno County farms counted in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and the trucks that serve that work, from livestock haulers to tankers, are ones we buy and collect from the farm.
- Can I still sell my diesel truck with California’s clean truck rules changing?California’s Advanced Clean Fleets drayage and high priority fleet requirements were repealed, and selling a diesel truck to us is still open to Millerton owners with the title in hand.
