Three aggregate sites within four miles
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Irwindale Plant, a sand and gravel operation, 3.2 miles south of Monrovia, and the Reliance Plant 3.7 miles to the south-east. If your dump truck or transfer rig runs between those pits and job sites, it may be sitting at a yard in Irwindale rather than at your house; give us that yard’s address and a name we can call to open the gate.
Azusa Rock, a crushed-stone quarry, is 3.5 miles east of town according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. For a tandem or a super dump hauling out of Azusa Rock, send a photo of the bed, the hoist and the VIN plate together with the title.
Container yards south toward Industry and Rowland
South of Monrovia by about 11 miles, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Los Angeles - City of Industry intermodal ramp. The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration with that bureau, adds the COI Intermodal Terminal Yard at 11 miles and Rowland Yard at 11.9 miles. A day cab that pulls boxes off those ramps can be collected from a drop lot near the yards; tell us which lot and whether a chassis is still hooked to it.
If the tractor has carried a port or rail-yard access tag, mention it when you first get in touch, and have the registration card and the most recent inspection report ready beside the title. Those three documents answer most of what we would otherwise have to ask about a container hauler from the Industry corridor.
Fuel and bulk liquid terminals to the south-west
The Energy Information Administration records a petroleum product terminal at Montebello, 13.4 miles south-west, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists Savage Service Corp, a liquid bulk terminal, 14.8 miles south. Tractors that pull fuel or chemical tankers between those sites are trucks we purchase, with or without the trailer.
Tell us whether the tank trailer is part of the sale or stays with you, and send its own title or registration if it goes. If the tractor is parked inside a terminal fence, give us the gate procedure in advance so the pickup can be booked with the site.
Carriers based in town
In FMCSA’s carrier census, Monrovia has 338 active carriers: 300 run intrastate only, 38 cross state lines, and 78 are private fleets. For a truck that has stayed inside California, the registration card and the title are the two papers to find first.
On cargo, FMCSA’s carrier census lists 97 Monrovia carriers hauling general freight, 15 moving household goods, 14 carrying metal sheets, coils and rolls, and 13 in refrigerated food. A coil-rated flatbed or a reefer unit sells with its trailer or without it; say which, and include the reefer unit’s hour reading if you have it.
The same census shows the three biggest local fleets at 53, 33 and 15 power units. Owners letting several units go at once can send one list of VINs with the yard address for each, and we will work through them as a group.
Annual mileage and model years in Monrovia
Among 51 Monrovia carriers reporting mileage to FMCSA, the median annual distance per truck is 22,898 miles. The carrier census also counts 272 drivers working within 100 miles of base and 459 going farther, so the odometer reading belongs in the first message you send us.
Of the 145 Monrovia trucks stopped for FMCSA roadside inspections from August 2024 to August 2026, half were model year 2016 or newer and 51 percent were ten or more years old. Whatever the year on yours, the title, the registration and clear photos of each side of the cab are what we need to begin.
Factory, wholesale and nursery work around Monrovia
Manufacturing accounts for 1,993 of Monrovia’s 19,712 jobs in 2023 on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, beside 1,574 in wholesale trade, 1,034 in construction and 175 in transportation and warehousing. Box trucks and straight trucks from wholesale and factory routes are part of what we collect here, from a loading dock as readily as from a driveway.
Around Monrovia, the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns tally lists 108 construction establishments, each a possible owner of a dump, flatbed or service body truck. If a contractor’s dump, flatbed or service body truck is being sold, the business name on the title has to match whoever signs, so have the signing officer’s details ready.
Across Los Angeles County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture records 766 farms, led by potted flowering plants, mushrooms and equine operations. A nursery stake bed or a horse-hauling rig parked on a farm lot can be collected there; tell us how the truck is reached from the road.
Overpasses and CARB rule status for Monrovia owners
For a carrier hauling your truck out of Monrovia, the Federal Highway Administration’s National Bridge Inventory shows 22 local bridges with zero load postings and zero clearances under 14 feet. Tell us where the truck sits and whether a carrier can reach it from the street.
The California Air Resources Board shows its Advanced Clean Fleets drayage and high-priority fleet requirements as repealed, and a federal court filing shows enforcement of the 2036 zero-emission sales requirement paused, while the Advanced Clean Trucks rule is contested. If you have a CARB compliance record or a Truck and Bus filing for the truck, include it with the title.
The questions we get asked in Monrovia
- My dump truck sits at a gravel yard in Irwindale. Can the pickup happen at that yard?Yes, at the Irwindale yard itself. The Irwindale Plant is 3.2 miles south of Monrovia on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s register, and we collect from yards like those; send the address and a gate contact.
- Can you pick up a day cab near the City of Industry rail ramp?A lot by the ramp is fine. The Bureau of Transportation Statistics puts that intermodal ramp about 11 miles south of town, and a drop lot near it is a fine place for us to collect the tractor.
- The title is in my business name. Who has to sign for a Monrovia sale? The title in the company’s name and someone authorised to sign for it. With 78 private fleets in Monrovia on FMCSA’s carrier census, company-titled trucks are common here.
- Does the age of my truck matter?FMCSA roadside inspection records put the median model year of trucks inspected locally at 2016; send the year, the VIN and photos, whatever the year.
