Docks and two yards
Between Mormon Yard, Lodi Yard and the Stockton port
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places Mormon Yard 6.2 miles south of Morada and Lodi Yard 6.4 miles north. A day cab that shuttles between those two yards could be parked anywhere along that line, so give us the exact lot or yard address and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
Stockton’s docks sit 5.6 miles south-west of Morada, where the Bureau of Transportation Statistics marks the port. If your tractor has pulled loads off the docks there, tell us which terminal it ran from, and send photos of the cab, the frame and the fifth wheel along with the VIN.
Ten and a half miles south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Stockton rail intermodal ramp. A container chassis puller based near that ramp can stay right where it is; we collect from the yard, so you only need to bring the title and the keys to the handover.
Tankers serving the south-west terminals
Shell Stockton Terminal, 6.4 miles south-west, and a second petroleum product terminal listed simply as Stockton, at 6.6 miles, both appear in Energy Information Administration records. Fuel tractors and tank trailers that load at those racks are part of what we buy around Morada; keep any loading-rack or site safety paperwork with the truck, since it shows us where the rig has worked.
Two liquid bulk terminals sit a little further out in the same direction: Transload Solutions at 7.3 miles and Superior Carriers at 7.5 miles, per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If you are selling a tanker that served either one, list the trailer’s VIN alongside the tractor’s and tell us whether the two go together or separately.
Milk and cattle hauling
San Joaquin County’s milk, cattle and corn
Milk tankers, cattle haulers and grain trucks that run between those farms and Morada are all trucks we will look at, and a farm truck parked in a barn lot down a county road is a normal place for us to collect from.
For a truck that spends most of the year on a dairy or a feed operation, photos taken in daylight from all four sides, plus the odometer and the VIN plate, give us what we need to start. If the truck is registered to the farm rather than to you personally, say so early so the title paperwork lines up with the right name.
Titles, registration and records in Morada
California titles are handled by the state’s title agency, and the name on the title needs to match the person or business signing the sale. Have the current registration card ready with it; if the title has been lost, ask the state’s title agency for a duplicate before the pickup date.
Gather service records, inspection reports and any fuel-terminal site clearances in one folder. They are not required to sell, but they answer questions about the truck’s work history around Stockton and Lodi without a second phone call.
Morada owners and the CARB truck regulations
On the CARB rulemaking page for drayage, high priority and federal fleets, the Advanced Clean Fleets requirements are now marked repealed. Its Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is shown as contested, and federal court records show enforcement of the 2036 zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty sales requirement as paused.
None of those statuses stops a Morada owner from selling a diesel tractor or tanker to us. If you have kept any compliance filings or reporting records for the truck, put them in the folder with the title so the truck’s history is complete when we collect it.
Owners near Lodi
A small job base close to Stockton
Morada had 401 jobs located inside it in 2023, going by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Whether your truck belongs to you personally, a family farm or a small business, we deal directly with the owner named on the title.
Morada sits between Stockton and Lodi, and a truck registered at a Morada address may be parked at a yard in either town. Tell us where it is today rather than where it is registered, and we plan the collection around that spot.
The questions we get asked in Morada
- Will you take a milk tanker that hauls for a San Joaquin dairy?Milk leads the county’s farm products in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and milk tankers are trucks we buy. Send the VIN, the odometer reading and daylight photos of the tank and tractor.
- My tanker loaded at the Shell Stockton Terminal. Should that come up when I contact you?The Energy Information Administration lists Shell Stockton Terminal 6.4 miles south-west of Morada, and telling us the tanker loaded there helps us ask the right questions. Include any rack or site paperwork you kept.
