Cement plants and quarries north-east of Oak Hills
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Victorville Cement Plant 12.6 miles north-east of Oak Hills and the Oro Grande Quarry, another cement operation, 15.4 miles to the north. A dump truck, mixer or bulk tractor that has run those plant roads may still be parked at a yard out that way, and we can collect it there rather than in town. Give us the plant-side yard’s street address and a person who can unlock it on collection day.
Scheerer Quarry, a sand and gravel site 15 miles north-east, and Protech Minerals, a mineral processing plant 11.9 miles out, round out the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list on that side of town. For a truck that hauled from any of them, have the title in hand along with the current California registration card. Add photos of the bed or body, the cab and the VIN plate.
South of Oak Hills, Lytle Creek Pit is a sand and gravel operation 16.1 miles away, by the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s reckoning. An aggregate truck working that pit and the plants up north crosses the county daily; tell us which end of the run it is sitting at now.
Rail down the hill
Intermodal ramps and rail yards in San Bernardino
About 20.2 miles south, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the San Bernardino intermodal ramp, where containers move between rail and road. Day cabs that dray boxes off that ramp often come home to Oak Hills at night, so the driveway or lot where it parks is usually the pickup point.
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, shows San Bernardino A Yard at 20.3 miles and B Yard at 20.9 miles from town. If your tractor pulled chassis between those yards, list the trailer coupling and any service records you kept, and give us the VIN first so the rest of our questions fit the truck.
General freight and cold loads out of Oak Hills
Twenty-six each list refrigerated food, meat and fresh produce, so reefer tractors and straight trucks with cold boxes are part of the local mix we buy.
Of those carriers, 83 run interstate and 121 stay inside California, with 31 operating as private fleets hauling their own goods, again per FMCSA. An intrastate truck may carry only California paperwork; have the title, the registration and any inspection sheets together before you contact us.
Registration figures from the same federal census show 23 new carriers in 2024 and 15 in 2025. By FMCSA’s figures, the three biggest local fleets run 25, 9 and 8 power units, against 52, 9 and 14 drivers. A small fleet selling several trucks at once can send one list of VINs and parking addresses.
Annual mileage, fleet age
Yearly miles and model years on Oak Hills trucks
Across 77 carriers that reported mileage, FMCSA’s census gives a median of 37,500 miles per truck in a year. FMCSA’s records also list 142 drivers working within 100 miles and 279 driving beyond that; if your truck is out on a long run, tell us where it will be parked next.
Between 3 September 2024 and 25 August 2026, roadside checks of 254 Oak Hills-based trucks went into FMCSA’s inspection records. Model year 2018 is the midpoint of that inspected group, FMCSA’s roadside data shows, with 29.1 percent carrying a model year ten or more years back. Whatever the year, the odometer reading and VIN are the two details to send first.
Site work and building trades in Oak Hills
Construction held 205 of the 850 jobs sited in Oak Hills in 2023, a 24.1 percent share on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. The same LEHD counts place 50 more, 5.9 percent, in transportation and warehousing. Flatbeds, dump trucks and service bodies built for site work belong on the list of what we purchase here.
A contractor with a work truck in a yard can have us collect it from the yard itself; have the title signed over by whoever is named on it, and photos of the body and any equipment mounted on it.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 809 farms in San Bernardino County, led by milk, cattle and potted flowering plants. Milk tankers, livestock haulers and box trucks moving nursery stock all work those farms, and we buy each of those body types.
A farm truck often sits on the property rather than at a yard. Give us the farm address, note any gate or road directions for the pickup, and have the title and registration in the cab or ready to hand over.
CARB fleet and sales rules, as of now
The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Fleets requirements for drayage, high priority and federal fleets have been repealed, according to the board’s 2025 rulemaking notice. Its Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is contested, and federal court filings show enforcement of the 2036 zero-emission sales requirement for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles is paused.
None of that changes what you need to sell a truck from Oak Hills: the title, the registration and photos. If you have engine or emissions labels, include a photo of them with the rest.
