Tanker work at the Martinez terminals and the Shell gate
The Energy Information Administration records two petroleum product terminals under the Martinez Terminal name, one 5.3 miles north-east of Reliez Valley and another 6 miles due north. A tractor that has pulled fuel tankers out of either gate can be collected from a yard near the terminal or from a driveway up in the valley; just tell us which.
Shell Oil’s liquid bulk terminal, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places 6.4 miles north of town, is another stop on that same stretch of shoreline. If your tanker tractor loaded there, write down the trailer type it pulled and keep any terminal access or hazmat paperwork with the title so we can read the truck’s working history in one place.
Rail and defense fuel
Ozol Yard, Benicia Yard and the fuel depot
On the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Ozol Yard lies 6.3 miles north-west of Reliez Valley and Benicia Yard 8.2 miles to the north. Day cabs that shuttle loads to and from rail sidings like these are on the list of what we buy; send a photo of the VIN plate and the odometer before anything else.
Close to Ozol, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Ozol Defense Fuel Support Point, a military installation 6.9 miles north-west of the valley. A truck that has worked a gated site such as that one may be parked behind a fence, so give us the name of whoever can let us in and the hours that gate is staffed.
Quarries toward Clayton
Crushed stone east of the valley
Clayton Aggregates is a crushed-stone quarry 7.9 miles east of Reliez Valley, and the Clayton Plant sits 8.8 miles out in the same direction, both according to Mine Safety and Health Administration listings. Dump trucks, end dumps and the tractors that pull aggregate trailers between pits and job sites are welcome here.
If your dump truck still sits at one of those Clayton pits, we can collect it on site once the quarry operator agrees to a visit. Photograph the bed, the hoist, the frame rails and the cab, and note the axle setup, so the pictures and your description line up.
Valley and county
Jobs in the valley and farms in the county
For 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts show 348 jobs located in Reliez Valley itself. A seller here is just as likely to keep a work truck at home as at a company lot, and either address is fine for collection.
Across Contra Costa County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 405 farms, with cattle, flower seeds and bulbs, corms, rhizomes and tubers at the top of the list. Stock trucks, flatbeds and box trucks serving ranches or nurseries in the county are trucks we buy; tell us what the body is and how the truck is registered.
Clean-truck rules as the Air Resources Board left them
The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Fleets requirements for drayage, high-priority and federal fleets have been repealed, according to the board’s 2025 rulemaking notice. Owners near the Martinez terminals who kept a tractor parked while that rule stood can sell it under the registration it already carries.
A federal court filing in the Eastern District of California shows enforcement of the 2036 rule requiring all medium- and heavy-duty sales to be zero-emission is paused, while the board’s Advanced Clean Trucks regulation remains contested after its recent amendments. Neither of those touches a sale between you and us; what matters for the handover is a title in your name.
Signatures and lienholders
Getting the title ready between the valley and Martinez
Have the title, the current registration and any service records together before we arrange collection anywhere between the valley and the Martinez shoreline. If the title is signed over by a business, include the name of the person authorised to sign for it.
A lost title is replaced through the state’s title agency, and the duplicate should be in hand before the truck changes owner. If a lender is still listed on it, tell us at the start so the release can be part of the sale.
The questions we get asked in Reliez Valley
- My tanker tractor sits at a yard by the Martinez terminals; must it come up to Reliez Valley first? The Energy Information Administration puts the Martinez terminals 5.3 and 6 miles from Reliez Valley, and we collect the tractor where it is parked there. Name the company or person who runs that Martinez yard so we can clear the visit with them.
- Will you take a dump truck that has hauled stone out of Clayton Aggregates or the Clayton Plant?Clayton Aggregates and the Clayton Plant, 7.9 and 8.8 miles east on Mine Safety and Health Administration records, both ship crushed stone, and dump trucks working out of them are trucks we buy. Photograph the hoist, the bed and the cab, and add the VIN plate to the set.
- Does the repealed Advanced Clean Fleets rule change anything about selling? The Air Resources Board’s 2025 notice repealed its drayage and high-priority fleet requirements, and selling the tractor to us needs only the title and registration in your name.
- A Reliez Valley tractor’s title was lost in a move; who reissues it?Reliez Valley owners get a duplicate from the state’s title agency, and the truck changes hands only once that title is in the seller’s name. Request it before we schedule collection and keep the receipt with your registration.
