Pits beside the town
Gravel pits close to Romoland
Only 2.7 miles separate Romoland from Juniper Flats, which the Mine Safety and Health Administration records as a sand and gravel operation on the east side. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that hauls out of that pit can usually be collected right where it parks between loads, so tell us the yard or gate it sits behind.
Heading north-east, CHANDLER AGGREGATES - GILMAN SPRINGS is a dimension-stone quarry 10.1 miles out on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list. Stone haulers from Gilman Springs often carry flatbed or lowboy setups; send photos of the deck and the tractor together so we see the whole unit.
To the west, NICHOLS ROAD PIT sits 12.6 miles away by the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s count, with the industrial-mineral workings at Pacific Clay Pits at 13.8 miles. If your truck has worked either site, a note of which one helps us plan where to pick it up.
Corona stone and Eagle Valley minerals
Further west, the Mine Safety and Health Administration records EAGLE VALLEY, an industrial-mineral mine, at 20.4 miles, and the 3M CORONA PLANT crushed-stone quarry at 21.2 miles. Trucks that work that corridor toward Corona can stay parked out there; give us the address and someone who can open the lot.
A bulk or belly-dump trailer that has served the Corona quarry should come with its own registration if it is titled separately. Have both papers ready, the tractor’s and the trailer’s, so the sale covers the pair in one visit.
Railhead and airbase
From the Arlington rail yard back to March ARB
Twenty-one miles toward Riverside, on a north-west line from Romoland, the North American Rail Network of the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics marks ARLINGTON YARD. A tractor that shuttles loads to and from that yard can be collected at the Riverside end if that is where it is kept.
Closer in, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places March ARB, a military installation, 11.1 miles north-west. If your truck is parked near the base, let us know any access rules for the lot ahead of time so the collection goes to the right gate.
Of the 57 Romoland-based carriers active on FMCSA’s carrier census, 49 stay intrastate and just 8 work across state lines. Most trucks here are California-plated and stay in the state, so your California registration and title are the papers we will ask for.
General freight is the cargo listed by 16 of those carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, with metal sheets, coils and rolls on 4, and dry bulk commodities and grain, feed and hay on 3 each. Tell us which of those your truck hauled and what body or trailer it pulled.
The largest local fleet on that census lists 23 power units and 7 drivers, and five of the 57 carriers are private fleets moving their own goods. A one-truck owner and a small fleet sell to us the same way: list each VIN and where each truck is parked.
Milk and mushroom farms
Farm trucks from Romoland’s dairies and growers
Around Romoland, Riverside County counts 2,424 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, mushrooms and cotton as its leading products. Feed trucks, flatbeds and grain haulers that serve those farms can be collected on the farm itself.
If a farm truck carries agricultural plates or has stayed off the highway, bring whatever registration it has along with the title. Photos of the cab, the bed and the VIN plate give us what we need to start.
Titles in this state are handled by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles through its DMV field offices; the Hemet office at 1200 S State St, Hemet, 92543, is 11 miles from Romoland according to the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles. If the title is lost, that office can issue a duplicate before the sale.
Before we arrive in Romoland, check that the name on the title matches the registration and that any lienholder has signed off. If a lender still holds the title, tell us who it is, and the Hemet field office can explain what the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles needs to release it.
