Two gravel pits within a mile and a quarter
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Bradshaw sand and gravel operation 1.1 miles east of Rosemont and the Perkins Plant 1.2 miles to the west. A dump truck or transfer rig that has worked between those two sites is likely parked on a short loop through town, and we can meet it at a yard, a pit gate or a driveway in Rosemont.
Further out, the FLORIN PLANT, a mineral processing plant on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies 4.4 miles south-west. If your truck is kept at one of these pits, tell us who controls the gate and the hours it is open, and send a photo of the VIN plate along with the title so the paperwork lines up before collection.
Fuel racks at Bradshaw and toward downtown Sacramento
Two miles north-east of Rosemont, the Energy Information Administration shows the BRADSHAW petroleum product terminal; its SACRAMENTO TERMINAL sits 8.6 miles west. Tankers and fuel delivery straight trucks that load at either rack can be sold from wherever they are parked between shifts.
For a fuel truck, have the registration, the title and any tank inspection certificates in one folder. Photos of the tank, the cab and the chassis tag help us match the unit to the documents, and they save a second round of questions.
Polk Yard, the South Sacramento rail yard and Sacramento-Yolo Port
POLK YARD, a rail yard 3.2 miles west, and SOUTH SACRAMENTO YARD, 7 miles west, both appear on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs that shuttle loads off those yards often stay parked near them, and that is where we can pick one up.
Sacramento-Yolo Port is listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics 14.5 miles south-west of Rosemont. If your tractor is parked at a lot near the port rather than at home, give us the street address and the name of whoever can let us in.
Construction leads the job counts in Rosemont
Construction accounts for 970 of the 7,981 jobs located in Rosemont in 2023, a 12.2 percent share, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES). The same LEHD job counts put manufacturing at 197 jobs, wholesale trade at 139 and transportation and warehousing at 84.
Contractors who are selling a dump truck, flatbed or water truck from a construction job can photograph it on site. A clear shot of each side, the odometer and the door tag, sent with the title, lets us set up the collection at the site rather than at your home address.
Milk tankers and cattle haulers from county farms
Sacramento County had 1,118 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and milk, corn and cattle head the county’s list. Milk tankers, grain trucks and livestock haulers from those operations are trucks we collect from the farm itself.
If a farm truck is titled to the farm business rather than to you personally, have the business name exactly as it appears on the title and someone who can sign for it. Farm plates and registration should travel with the truck.
Advanced Clean Fleets repealed, the 2036 sales rule paused
The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Fleets drayage, high priority and federal fleet requirements are listed as repealed, and a federal court filing shows the 2036 zero-emission sales requirement with enforcement paused. For the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation, the status shown alongside CARB’s amendment notice is contested.
None of these status changes stops a Rosemont owner from selling a diesel tractor or work truck to us. Keep the emissions label and any smog or engine paperwork with the title, since California registration records follow the vehicle.
