Crystal Creek
A gravel operation just up the road from Shasta
Crystal Creek Aggregates, a sand and gravel operation, is listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration at 1.2 miles north-east of Shasta. A tandem dump or end-dump tractor that hauls from that pit may well be parked close to town; give us the yard or ranch address and we plan the collection around that spot.
Aggregate Products, another sand and gravel site, lies 6.8 miles south-east toward Redding according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. If your truck has split its loads between the two pits, say which body it carries and send photos of the bed, the hoist and the cab together so we see the whole rig before we talk about it.
Quarries, asphalt and a cement plant toward Mountain Gate
Three sites cluster about thirteen miles north-east of Shasta on Mine Safety and Health Administration records: SWA @ Mountain Gate Quarry and Fawndale Rock & Asphalt, both crushed-stone quarries, and the Redding Plant, a cement plant at 13.1 miles. Bulk cement tankers, transit mixers and rock haulers that run that corridor are all trucks we buy, so tell us which of the three yours served and whether it pulled a trailer.
For a mixer or a pneumatic tanker off the Redding Plant run, keep the drum or tank inspection sheets with the title. Send those papers with a clear photo of the VIN plate and the current registration card, and we check the truck against them before anyone travels out to see it.
Latona and the Washington Mine on either side of town
Latona Aggregates, which the Mine Safety and Health Administration classes as an industrial-mineral mine, sits 9.2 miles south-east of Shasta. A flatbed or dump that has worked out there can stay at that site when you sell; we only need a contact who can let us through the gate on collection day.
In the other direction, the Mine Safety and Health Administration places the Washington Mine, a metal mine, 13.7 miles north-west of town. If your truck services a site that far up the hills, tell us how the road in looks for a tow rig or a lowboy, and whether the truck is on the property or already back at a yard nearer Shasta.
Beef, horses, hives
Shasta’s ranch trucks, from stock trailers to hay flatbeds
Around Shasta, cattle lead the list of farm products, followed by equine and honey, and USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,120 farms in Shasta County. Livestock haulers, flatbeds that move hay and pickups rated for gooseneck trailers all come off ranches like these, and we collect them from the barn or pasture where they sit.
Ranch trucks often carry farm plates or have changed hands inside a family. Before you call, find the title and check that the name on it matches the seller; if a parent or a late partner still holds it, tell us that first so we can walk you through the paperwork it needs.
A missing pink slip, five miles down the road
Titles in this part of the state are handled by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, and its nearest field office to Shasta is Redding, at 2135 Civic Center Drive, Redding, 96001, about 5.2 miles away by the department’s own office list. A Shasta seller without the pink slip asks for the duplicate at that Civic Center counter.
Bring the VIN, your license and the registration card to the Redding field office, and let us know you have started the duplicate request. We can hold the sale open while the new title is on its way, and the truck stays where it is parked in the meantime.
Clean-truck rules and a diesel parked in Shasta
For now the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation remains contested, and it governs what manufacturers sell new. For a Shasta owner, that rule is about the showroom, not whether a used tractor sitting at a ranch here can change hands.
The state’s zero-emission sales requirement for medium- and heavy-duty trucks is on hold; enforcement of it is paused under a federal court filing. Shasta sellers should also know the state repealed its Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation - Drayage Fleet Requirements and High Priority and Federal Fleets Requirements, so a diesel truck parked in town today can be sold as it is.
