Aggregate next door
Sand and gravel plants on the west side
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Mayhew Plant 0.7 miles west of Temescal Valley and Maitri Sand and Gravel 0.9 miles west, so two aggregate operations sit within a mile of town. If your end dump, transfer or bottom dump has been loading at either one, tell us which plant it hauled from and where it is parked today.
A truck parked at a gravel plant gate or in a contractor’s yard off the valley floor can stay right there for collection. Send us the street address or the yard name, the name of whoever holds the keys, and a note on whether a lowboy or a tow can reach the spot without moving other equipment first.
Clay, minerals and crushed stone along Temescal Canyon
South-east of the valley, Pacific Clay Pits is an industrial-mineral mine 4.8 miles out, according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. The Mine Safety and Health Administration also places the Eagle Valley mine 5.2 miles north-west and the 3M Corona Plant, a crushed-stone quarry, 6.8 miles north-west. If you are selling a tractor with more than one trailer from these sites, list each trailer separately with its own VIN plate photo.
For a truck that has worked inside a mine permit area, any site access records, safety check sheets or service logs the operator kept should be handed over with the title. Photos of the cab, the frame rails, the bed or body and the tires, taken in daylight, let us match what you describe to what we will find on the ground.
Construction carries the local job count
Of the 5,524 jobs located in Temescal Valley in 2023, 2,223 were in construction, a 40.2 percent share on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Another 430 jobs sat in manufacturing and 210 in wholesale trade on those same LEHD figures. Contractor yards here can hold water trucks, pickups with dump beds, stake beds and concrete mixers in contractor yards, and any of those can be sold to us from the yard where they sit.
Builders outnumber storage outfits here, with 69 construction establishments against just 4 in warehousing on the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. If your company is one of those contractors and is clearing out several units at once, send a single list with the VIN, make, model year and current location of each, and we will work through them together rather than one call per truck.
Mining, quarrying and extraction accounted for 170 local jobs in 2023 and transportation and warehousing for 159, the LEHD job counts show. Owner-operators in either line can sell a single tractor or a tractor and trailer together; tell us which pieces go and which stay with you.
From late-model day cabs to decade-old dumps
Across 370 Temescal Valley trucks stopped between 29 August 2024 and 27 August 2026, the median model year in FMCSA roadside inspection records was 2019. Just under a quarter of them, 24.05 percent by those federal roadside inspection records, carried a model year ten or more years back. We buy across that whole spread, from late-model day cabs to older vocational trucks.
Whatever the model year, have the California title in the name of the person or company selling, plus the current registration card. Keep a copy of the latest inspection report or a recent service invoice with the truck so the paperwork and the VIN line up on collection day.
Corona yards and the Norco detachment
Corona Yard lies 9.6 miles north-west of Temescal Valley and West Corona Yard 12 miles north-west, as the North American Rail Network from the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records them. Drayage tractors that shuttle between those yards and the valley’s plants can be picked up at a terminal lot as long as the lot manager knows we are coming; give us that contact when you get in touch.
Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment Norco is 12.9 miles north-west, per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A truck stored behind a controlled gate near there needs whoever controls entry to agree to the pickup, so arrange the escort or pass on your side and tell us the gate we should use.
Farm trucks across the county
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 2,424 farms in Riverside County, with milk, mushrooms and cotton among the top products. Dairy tankers, refrigerated box trucks from mushroom growers and cotton module haulers from those farms are all trucks we collect from the farm itself.
Farm trucks are often registered under a ranch or family partnership rather than a person. If that is how your title reads, have an officer or partner of that entity sign, and if the title has gone missing, the California Department of Motor Vehicles issues the duplicate before the sale.
The questions we get asked in Temescal Valley
- My dump truck is still parked at the gravel plant just west of Temescal Valley. Will you pick it up off the plant lot?The Mayhew Plant and Maitri Sand and Gravel are both under a mile west of town on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and we pick up at a plant lot like those. Give us the plant name and a contact who can let the driver in.
- I have a tractor that works the Corona rail yards. Which details do you want up front for a yard tractor?Corona Yard sits 9.6 miles north-west on the North American Rail Network, and for a drayage tractor working out of it we want the VIN, the title holder’s name and photos of the cab and fifth wheel first. The rest of our questions follow from those.
- Our construction company has several trucks to sell. Can one list cover the whole Temescal Valley yard? With 2,223 construction jobs in Temescal Valley on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, multi-truck yards are common here; send one list with each truck’s VIN, make, model year and parking spot and we arrange the collections from it.
- The title for my farm truck in Riverside County is lost. Where does a Riverside County owner get a duplicate?Riverside County’s 2,424 farms, as USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts them, are covered by the California Department of Motor Vehicles for titles, and that office issues a duplicate to the registered owner. Once it is in hand, the sale goes ahead as normal.
