Granite pits southwest
Granite and gravel west of Three Rivers
Eight miles south-west of town, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists LEMONCOVE GRANITE as a crushed-stone quarry, and the same agency places the Kaweah South sand and gravel operation 11.8 miles due west. A dump truck or end-dump that has loaded at either site is likely parked close to the pit or back at a yard near Three Rivers, and we collect from wherever it stands, so give us that address rather than moving it.
Farther out, Orosi Quarry (21.8 miles west) and the Decomposed Granite Pit (LG) (23.1 miles south) appear on Mine Safety and Health Administration records as a gravel operation and a crushed-stone quarry. If your tractor or tipper has hauled from those, tell us which site and send clear photos of the bed, the frame and the cab, along with the VIN.
Exeter Yard and the valley floor
EXETER YARD, a rail yard 17.3 miles south-west of Three Rivers, is mapped in the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs that shuttle between the foothills and that railhead are the kind of equipment we buy outright from owners.
If your truck is kept down near Exeter instead of up the canyon, say so when you first get in touch. Pickup is planned around where the truck actually stands, and a note on whether the access is a gravel lane or a paved yard helps us send the right rig.
Sixteen local carriers, all in-state
Sixteen active carriers list Three Rivers in FMCSA’s carrier census, and every one of them runs intrastate only; six of the sixteen operate as private fleets hauling their own goods. A tractor or straight truck from one of those outfits carries California registration, so have the current registration card with it when we arrive.
By cargo type, FMCSA’s census counts five carriers here for general freight, two for passengers, one for garbage and refuse, and one for liquids or gases. Whether you own a box truck, a small bus, a refuse packer or a tank unit, the paperwork we ask for is the same: title, registration and any service records you kept.
The three biggest local operations in that federal census run six, three and three power units, with three, five and four drivers. A fleet owner selling more than one unit can send the VINs in a single list and we will work through them together.
Valley farm country
Milk, cattle and corn below the foothills
Below Three Rivers the valley opens into dairy and ranch land: USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 3,713 farms across Tulare County, with milk, cattle and corn as its top products. Feed trucks, cattle haulers and milk tankers from those operations fit what we take in.
A farm truck often sits at a barn or a feedlot rather than a paved yard, and that is fine with us. Send a pin or directions to the spot, a few photos in daylight, and tell us whether the title is in the farm’s name or yours.
Visalia DMV
A missing title starts at the Visalia counter
California titles come from the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, which handles transfers and replacements through its DMV field offices. For Three Rivers owners the nearest DMV is the Visalia field office at 1711 East Main Street, Visalia, 93292, about 23.2 miles from town.
If the title has gone missing, start the replacement there before you call us, or tell us at the outset and we will hold the truck’s details while the duplicate is issued. Bring the registration and your ID to the Visalia counter so the request matches the record.
Jobs and building trades around the town
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 374 jobs in Three Rivers for 2023, and County Business Patterns records ten construction establishments in the area. Contractors’ pickups with dump beds, flatbeds and small cranes are among the trucks a builder here might want to sell.
New authority is rare in this canyon: one carrier registered in 2024 and one more in 2025, per FMCSA’s census. Drivers listed for the local carriers split evenly, nineteen operating within a 100-mile radius and nineteen beyond it, by FMCSA’s count.
California’s clean-truck regulations today
Three Rivers owners still ask about the state’s truck rules. The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is contested, and for that board’s 2036 100 Percent Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicle Sales Requirements, enforcement is paused.
As for the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation - Drayage Fleet Requirements and High Priority and Federal Fleets Requirements, that rule has been repealed. A Three Rivers seller needs no compliance certificate from us to sell a truck; the title and registration are what we ask for.
The questions we get asked in Three Rivers
- My dump truck sits at a Lemoncove granite pit - can it be picked up there?LEMONCOVE GRANITE, 8.2 miles south-west, and Kaweah South, 11.8 miles west, are both listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, and we pick up from sites like those as readily as from a home yard. Pass along the gate location and the name of whoever holds the quarry key.
- Which Visalia office replaces a title lost by a Three Rivers owner? The Visalia field office of the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, at 1711 East Main Street, Visalia, 93292, is about 23.2 miles away and handles title replacements.
- Is a truck with intrastate-only California authority something you buy?All sixteen carriers based in Three Rivers run intrastate in FMCSA’s carrier census, so in-state trucks are the norm here, and we buy them on the same terms as any other.
- I farm in Tulare County - do you take farm trucks?Tulare County’s 3,713 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture lean on milk, cattle and corn, and feed trucks, cattle haulers and tankers from that work are trucks we purchase.
