Gravel and crushed stone a few miles out
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Reliance Plant, a sand and gravel operation, 2.5 miles north of Vincent, and Irwindale Aggregates 3 miles to the west. A dump truck or transfer rig that loads at either gate can stay parked in the yard it works from; give us the street address and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
Azusa Rock, a crushed-stone quarry, appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records 4 miles north of town. If your tandem or super dump has run rock out of Azusa, photograph the bed, the tailgate and the plate on the door, and send those pictures along with the VIN.
Intermodal ramps south toward City of Industry
Six miles south, the COI Intermodal Terminal Yard is mapped at 6.1 miles in the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, with Rowland Yard at 6.8 miles. Day cabs pulling chassis between those two yards are tractors we buy, and the cab card plus the current California registration are the first two documents to have in hand.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics separately lists the Los Angeles - City of Industry intermodal ramp 6.2 miles south of Vincent. A tractor that drays boxes off that ramp may be kept near the rail lots rather than at home; tell us which lot, and we will arrange the collection with whoever runs it.
Liquid bulk and fuel terminals to the south-west
Savage Service Corp, a liquid bulk terminal, is 12.4 miles south-west according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your tractor has pulled tank trailers in and out of there, keep its terminal access records and any hazmat paperwork together with the title.
The Montebello petroleum product terminal sits 13 miles south-west of town in Energy Information Administration listings. Fuel haulers based in the San Gabriel Valley can leave the tractor at its usual parking spot; we only need the location, the VIN and a phone number for the person who can let our driver in.
Construction jobs counted in town
In 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts recorded 757 jobs located in Vincent, and 129 of them, a 17 percent share, were in construction. Flatbeds, stake beds and small dumps that serve contractors are part of what we purchase, and a contractor selling one should have the title signed by whoever is named on it.
For a company truck, the name on the California title has to match the business selling it. If the business has changed its name or merged since the truck was registered, bring the paperwork that links the old name to the new one.
Nursery, mushroom and horse operations
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 766 farms across Los Angeles County, with potted flowering plants, mushrooms and equine operations at the top of its list. Box trucks that carry nursery stock and the stock trucks or horse haulers that serve stables are commercial vehicles we will look at too.
A grower or stable owner may have a truck registered under the farm’s name rather than a personal one. Send a photo of the registration card along with pictures of the cab and the body, and we will tell you which signature the title needs.
Clean-truck rules and a San Gabriel Valley sale
The California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Fleets requirements for drayage, high-priority and federal fleets are listed as repealed, and its Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is listed as contested. A federal court filing has put on hold any enforcement of the 2036 rule requiring all medium- and heavy-duty sales to be zero-emission.
None of those rule changes alters what we ask a seller in Vincent for: the title, the registration, the VIN and a set of clear photos of the cab, frame and tires.
The questions we get asked in Vincent
- My dump truck sits inside a gravel yard near Irwindale, behind a locked gate. Will your driver pick it up from the yard?Irwindale Aggregates is 3 miles west of Vincent in Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and we collect from yards like it. Tell us the gate hours and who on site signs vehicles out.
- My day cab works the rail yards in City of Industry and stays parked there. Does it have to come back to Vincent before the sale? The COI Intermodal Terminal Yard lies 6.1 miles south on the North American Rail Network, close enough that our driver can meet the truck at its lot. Give us the lot name and a contact there.
- I kept my rig in a Vincent driveway and cannot find its pink slip anywhere. How do I get a duplicate before selling?California’s title agency issues duplicate titles, and the request comes from the owner on record. Start that request and mention it when you contact us, and the rest of the sale can be arranged alongside it.
- My box truck hauled potted plants for a county nursery. Would you buy a grower’s truck like that?Potted flowering plants top the list of Los Angeles County’s 766 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and the box trucks serving those growers are vehicles we purchase. Send the VIN, the registration and photos of the box and cab.
