Calwa Yard and Fresno Yard, both under six miles out
Calwa Yard lies 5.1 miles east of West Park and Fresno Yard 5.3 miles north, both rail yards listed in the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A tractor that shuttles between those two yards and the lots around them spends its working life inside the Fresno area, and its registration and inspection stickers tell most of its story. Have the current registration and the cab card ready alongside the title when you contact us, and say which yard the truck served.
Day cabs that pull containers off those two yards are on the list of what we buy. With the yards sitting east and north of town, the truck is most likely parked at a yard-side lot or at home in West Park when we collect it; give us the street, the gate hours and a contact who can let a driver through. Photos of the fifth wheel, the frame rails and both sides of the cab go with the VIN and the odometer reading.
Fuel rack
The petroleum terminal six miles east
A petroleum product terminal at Fresno sits 6.2 miles east of West Park on the Energy Information Administration’s list of terminals. Tractors that pull tank trailers out of that rack belong on the list of what we purchase, with or without the trailer. Tell us which products the tank carried and whether the trailer is part of the sale, and the questions you get back will be about your own truck.
Further out, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records a liquid bulk terminal, Van-G Logistics, at two sites 13.5 and 14.4 miles south-east of town. A tanker that has loaded at either site carries placards and tank inspection paperwork; keep those with the truck, and send the inspection certificates with the photos. Let us know whether the truck is parked at the terminal or in West Park, since the pickup is planned around where it sits.
Rockfield and the Sanger plant to the north-east
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Rockfield Plant, a sand and gravel operation, 16.8 miles north-east of West Park, and the Sanger Aggregate Plant, an industrial-mineral mine, 19.2 miles east. End dumps, transfer rigs and bottom dumps hauling from those two pits pass through the Fresno area on their way to jobs, and tractors set up for that work are ones we buy.
If your truck has pulled out of either plant, say so when you first write to us, and note whether the trailer goes with it. A dump tractor is often parked at a yard near the pit rather than at home; send the lot’s address and the name of whoever holds the keys, and we will collect it there. Photos of the wet kit, the PTO and the hitch answer most of the questions a gravel tractor raises.
Cattle, milk and cotton on every side of town
West Park sits among farms: USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 4,427 of them in Fresno County, and ranks cattle, milk and cotton as the county’s leading products. Those three products put livestock trailers, milk tankers and cotton module trucks on the roads around town, and farm-plated tractors with those uses are ones we purchase.
A farm truck here is usually parked at the dairy or the ranch, not on a public lot. Give us the ranch address and the nearest cross street, and say whether a gate code is needed. Send a photo of the plate and the registration card with the title, so the sale paperwork names the truck exactly as the registration does.
Olive Avenue
A DMV field office four miles from West Park
The State of California Department of Motor Vehicles issues titles here, and its Fresno field office is at 655 W Olive Avenue, Fresno, 93728, 4 miles from West Park. If the title to your truck is missing, that office handles the duplicate; bring the registration and your identification. A lien shown on the title needs the lender’s release before the truck changes hands.
Most sales from West Park need no visit to Olive Avenue at all. The seller signs the title over, the registration card and a bill of sale travel with it, and the transfer is filed with the Department of Motor Vehicles after the pickup. Check that the name on the title matches the name of the person signing; if the truck is in a company’s name, the officer signing should bring proof of that role.
Three California clean-truck rules, three different standings
West Park falls under the California Air Resources Board’s Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation, a rule whose standing is contested. The state’s requirement that all medium- and heavy-duty vehicle sales be zero-emission from 2036 has its enforcement paused. The drayage, high-priority and federal fleet parts of the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation have been repealed.
For a seller in West Park the standing of those rules alters nothing about the sale itself: we purchase diesel tractors of any model year, and the title transfer at the Department of Motor Vehicles is the same paper either way. Keep any Air Resources Board compliance certificate or fleet reporting confirmation you hold with the truck, and send a copy with the photos; it stays with the truck.
The questions we get asked in West Park
- My tractor sits on a lot at Calwa Yard; does it have to come back to West Park before you collect it?Calwa Yard is 5.1 miles east of West Park on the North American Rail Network map kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and we collect from a lot there as readily as from a driveway in town. Send the lot’s address and the gate contact.
- My truck title has gone missing; where in Fresno do I get a duplicate? The Fresno field office of the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, at 655 W Olive Avenue, 4 miles from West Park, handles duplicate titles. Take the registration and your identification.
- Do you buy a milk tanker or a cattle hauler?Milk and cattle are two of the three leading products USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture names for Fresno County’s 4,427 farms, and the tractors that pull those trailers are ones we purchase. Say at the outset whether the stock trailer or the milk tank is part of the sale.
- Does the paused 2036 zero-emission sales rule change how I sell a diesel truck here? The 2036 medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission sales requirement has its enforcement paused, and the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is contested; a used diesel tractor is still sold from West Park the same way. Sign the title, send the registration, and the transfer goes through the Department of Motor Vehicles as before.
- The truck hauled gravel from the Rockfield Plant; which photos do you want from a tractor like that? The Rockfield Plant is a sand and gravel operation 16.8 miles north-east of West Park on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and a tractor from that run should be photographed at the hitch, the PTO and the frame as well as the cab. Add the VIN plate and the odometer.
