Town carriers, mostly in-state
FMCSA’s carrier census lists 118 active carriers in Westlake Village, and 108 of them are marked intrastate while 9 are cleared for interstate work. If your truck has only ever run California routes under one of those intrastate authorities, bring the California registration card along with the title, and we will check both against the VIN.
Of those carriers, the federal census counts 23 as private fleets, hauling their own goods rather than freight for hire. A private-fleet unit is often a box truck, a flatbed or a service body registered to a business, so tell us whose name is on the title and who in the company can sign for it before we arrange collection.
New registrations keep arriving at a modest pace: FMCSA records 9 new carriers in 2024 and 8 in 2025 based here. If you started a one-truck operation in one of those years and are now stepping away from it, have your USDOT number handy so we can confirm the truck on file is the one you are selling.
Freight, machinery, passengers and refuse
General freight leads the cargo list, with 18 carriers in town declaring it to FMCSA, followed by 6 hauling machinery and large objects and 6 carrying passengers. A tractor or straight truck from general freight work, a lowboy rig from machinery moves, or a bus or passenger van can all be sold to us; tell us which of those your vehicle did and send a photo of each side.
Five Westlake Village carriers list garbage, refuse and trash with FMCSA’s carrier census. Roll-off, rear-loader and front-loader trucks carry body serial plates separate from the chassis VIN, so photograph both plates and include them when you reach out.
One fleet here runs 145 power units with 145 drivers on FMCSA’s census, while the next two run 8 and 7 power units. Whether you are clearing a few units from a large operation or the one truck you own, list each VIN with the address where it is parked and we schedule pickups unit by unit.
Short hauls home to the yard
Drivers attached to carriers in town split 318 working within 100 miles and 103 going beyond that, according to FMCSA’s carrier census. If your truck is a short-haul unit that comes back to a yard near Westlake Village each night, that yard is where we would meet it; give us gate hours and a name to call on arrival.
Among 10 local carriers that reported mileage, the median sits at 13,750 miles per truck each year in FMCSA records. Read the odometer and photograph the dash with the ignition on, and send that picture with your first message so the figure we work from is the one on the truck.
Quarries, a terminal and Raymer Yard
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Pacific Rock Inc, a crushed-stone quarry, 11.8 miles west, and two sand and gravel operations to the north, Moorpark Quarry at 14.2 miles and a second pit at 14.4 miles. Dump trucks, transfer rigs and end-dumps that haul from pits like these can be collected right at the site, so tell us whether the truck is parked inside the quarry gate and who has to let us in.
Canyon Rock Plant, an industrial-mineral mine 14.7 miles north-east, also appears on the MSHA list. If your truck worked that plant and carries any mine-site inspection sheets, keep them with the title; they help us read the truck’s work history.
Twenty miles east, the Energy Information Administration lists the Van Nuys Terminal for petroleum products, and the North American Rail Network shows Raymer Yard at the same 20.2-mile distance. A fuel tanker or a drayage tractor working either site can stay parked there for pickup; give us the street address and the terminal’s visitor rules.
Open roads in town, two bases to the west
Tall box trucks and loaded tractors face no posted bridge limit inside town, so the pickup can go to wherever the truck sits, a driveway, a business lot or a storage yard.
Westward, at 16.8 miles, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places Channel Islands ANG Station and Naval Base Ventura County’s Point Mugu Operating Facility. If a truck you are selling is parked on or near a base, confirm in advance that a civilian collection driver will be allowed through, and give us the name of the person who will escort them.
Contractors, makers and nurseries
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 13,487 jobs in Westlake Village in 2023, with construction at 703 (5.2 percent), manufacturing at 700 (5.2 percent) and wholesale trade at 592 (4.4 percent). Contractors’ dump trucks, stake beds and delivery trucks from those three sectors are all vehicles we purchase, and the registration card plus a set of photos is enough to start.
A nursery’s box truck, a reefer from mushroom growing or a horse-hauling rig from a ranch is welcome; note any refrigeration unit or trailer that goes with it.
ACT, ACF and the zero-emission sales rule
The California Air Resources Board lists its Advanced Clean Fleets drayage, high-priority and federal fleet requirements as repealed, and the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation as contested. Neither status stops you from selling a diesel truck to us, so bring the title and registration and leave the compliance questions to the paperwork.
Enforcement of California’s 2036 zero-emission sales requirement for medium- and heavy-duty trucks is paused, according to a federal court filing published on GovInfo. If you held a truck back while waiting to see how that rule landed, its current status is paused, and you can contact us about selling it whenever you choose.
