South to the rails
Two Guadalupe yards just below town
Union Pacific’s Guadalupe Yard lies 4.7 miles south of Woodlands, according to the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A tractor or straight truck that shuttles between that yard and local customers is one we buy, and it can stay at the yard or your shop for the pickup; give us the gate or lot address and the hours someone can let us in.
A second Guadalupe Yard, the SMV listing in the North American Rail Network, is placed 5.3 miles south of town. Drivers who split their week between the two yards often keep logbooks and trip sheets in the cab, so pull those out before you photograph the interior and send them along with the VIN.
Aggregate off two pits
Woodlands haulers on the aggregate loop
The Mine Safety and Health Administration records Gordon Sand Co as a sand and gravel operation 6.7 miles south-west of Woodlands. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that load there are welcome with us; photograph the bed, the hoist and the tailgate with the body raised and lowered so we can see the whole unit.
East of town, 6.9 miles out, is Troesh Recycling, Inc. dba RoXsand, a site the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists among its sand and gravel operations. If your truck carries a pit or quarry permit sticker, or has a weigh-ticket history from that site, keep the slips together; they tell us the truck’s working route without a long call.
Coast highway contracts
Vandenberg and Camp San Luis Obispo runs
Heading south from Woodlands for 21.8 miles brings a driver to Vandenberg Space Force Base, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists as a military installation. If your truck has hauled to the base, have its registration card and any gate-access paperwork handy, and tell us whether it is parked off-base before we arrange to come for it.
To the north-west, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places NG ITC Camp San Luis Obisbo 23.1 miles away. Contractors who run equipment up the coast to the camp can sell a flatbed, lowboy tractor or service truck to us from wherever it last parked, including a jobsite yard near the camp, once you share the address.
Nursery and cattle loads
Farm trucks around the Santa Maria side
Across San Luis Obispo County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counted 2,184 farms, and it ranks propagative material, cattle and transplants as the leading products there. Reefer box trucks moving nursery stock and stake beds carrying transplants out of Woodlands fields are trucks we purchase, along with the farm-plated pickups that tend them.
Cattle haulers and gooseneck tractors from the same ranches are on our list too. A livestock trailer often travels with its tractor on a separate title, so tell us if you want to sell the pair and send a photo of each VIN plate.
Santa Maria Way
The DMV field office 8.7 miles out
A lost certificate is replaced through the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, which handles titles at its DMV field offices. For Woodlands owners the closest, per the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, is the Santa Maria office at 2850 Santa Maria Way, Santa Maria, 93455, about 8.7 miles from town, so a replacement can be requested before or while we arrange collection.
If a lender is still shown on the California title, bring the lien release or the lender’s contact details to that Santa Maria counter; once the DMV clears it, send us a photo of both sides of the title and the current registration, and the sale moves forward on those.
Air board measures
California’s truck regulations as they stand
Three California Air Resources Board measures shape what fleets near Woodlands are asked to do. The Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation is contested, while the drayage, high priority and federal fleet requirements of the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation have been repealed, per the board’s own rulemaking notice.
A federal court filing shows enforcement on hold for the state’s requirement that all new medium- and heavy-duty truck sales be zero-emission. Owners around Woodlands can sell a diesel or gasoline truck to us under any of these rules; send its engine label photo so we can read the model year and family.
