Sand, gravel and stone below the mountain
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Cucamonga Creek Mine, an industrial-mineral mine, 13.8 miles south of Wrightwood, with the CAMPUS PLANT sand and gravel operation at 14.5 miles and the UPLAND PIT AND MILL at 16.5 miles in the same direction. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that has spent its shifts between those pits and the Upland side of the valley can be collected at the pit gate or a yard nearby; give us the address and the name of whoever controls access.
Over the ridge to the north-west, Big Rock Creek Quarry sits 17.4 miles away on Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and Azusa Rock, a crushed-stone quarry, is 21.5 miles to the south-west. If your truck is parked at one of those sites rather than at home in Wrightwood, say which one when you first contact us. Photos of the cab, the body and the VIN plate belong in that first message too.
Yards and tankage
KAISER YARD lies 19.3 miles south-east of town and MONTCLAIR 20 miles south, both rail yards on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A day cab that has shuttled loads to and from either yard can be sold from wherever it is now parked, whether that is a lot near the tracks or a driveway up the hill.
Tankers loading at the FONTANA PLANT, a petroleum product terminal, travel 21.3 miles south-east of Wrightwood on the Energy Information Administration’s map. If your tractor has pulled a fuel tanker out of Fontana, tell us whether the trailer is part of the sale or stays with you, and have the tractor’s registration and any inspection records on hand when we call.
Mountain operators
Of the 25 active carriers FMCSA’s carrier census places in Wrightwood, 22 keep to intrastate work, 3 run interstate and 4 are private fleets hauling their own goods. For a seller here that usually means a California-plated truck with a California title, which keeps the paperwork to one state.
Among those carriers, FMCSA’s census shows 3 hauling general freight, 2 moving machinery and large objects, 2 carrying passengers and 1 hauling beverages. A shuttle bus or passenger van registered to a Wrightwood operator is a vehicle we will look at too; send the seating layout along with the usual photos.
Drivers for 24 of these carriers work within 100 miles of base and drivers for 21 go beyond it, according to the same FMCSA census, so plenty of local trucks spend time well away from the mountain. FMCSA’s census puts the biggest fleet in town at 5 power units with 7 drivers, the next at 3 units with 2 drivers and the third at 2 units with 1 driver. Selling one truck out of a small fleet like those? Tell us which unit it is and where it will be parked on the day.

Jobs and builders in a mountain community
Whether your truck works for one of those local employers or for you alone, the person who signs the title is the person we need to speak with; if that is someone else, put us in touch with them.
Seven builders in Wrightwood appear as construction establishments in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. A flatbed, stake bed or small dump truck that serves job sites on the mountain can be collected from the site or from the contractor’s yard; have the title and the current registration together before we schedule a time.
Dairy and cattle across San Bernardino County
Milk, cattle and potted flowering plants lead the output of San Bernardino County’s 809 farms, as tallied by USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture. Feed trucks, cattle haulers and nursery delivery trucks that work those farms are part of what we buy.
If your truck is registered to a farm in the county rather than to you personally, the farm’s name must match the name on the title. Bring that document out before we talk, along with any service records the farm kept, and tell us which property the truck is sitting on.
A Wrightwood title and the state’s clean-truck rules
California’s title agency issues the title for a truck based in Wrightwood, and a lost title is replaced through that same state office before the sale closes. Start the replacement early if you cannot find yours, and keep the receipt it gives you so we can see it is under way.
The California Air Resources Board’s rulemaking page records that the Advanced Clean Fleets drayage, high-priority and federal fleet requirements have been repealed, and the Board lists the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation as contested. Neither affects whether you can sell a truck to us; what we need from you is the title, the registration and photos.
