Spec Agg and the Morrison quarry road
Spec Agg Quarry, a crushed-stone operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s mine list, lies 3.3 miles south-west of Applewood. Dump trucks, end-dumps and belly-dump tractors that load gravel there are trucks we buy. If yours is parked at the pit rather than at home, give us the gate contact so the pickup can be arranged with whoever runs the scale house.
Further down, at 7.7 miles due south, the Amrize Morrison Quarry is listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration as another crushed-stone site. A tandem that splits its week between Morrison and Spec Agg can be collected at either one. Send the VIN, a photo of the door plate and pictures of the bed and hoist, and say which quarry it sits at.
North-west of town, 10.7 miles out, MSHA records the Church Harvey Mine as an industrial-mineral mine. If your truck hauled mineral loads from that direction, mention the site when you first call, along with whether the title is in your name or a company’s.
Containers, rail yards and roofing asphalt east of Applewood
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Denver, CO - Irondale rail intermodal ramp 10 miles east of Applewood. Day cabs and sleepers that pull containers off that ramp fit what we purchase. Have the cab card and the registration ready, and photograph the fifth wheel and the tires together with the interior.
Two rail yards named North, at 9.6 and 9.7 miles east, appear in the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A tractor that drays between those yards and Irondale is usually parked somewhere along that corridor, and we can collect it where it stands once you tell us the address.
At 10.2 miles east, the Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal run by Owens Corning’s roofing and asphalt division. Tankers and flatbeds that loaded at a terminal like that are welcome here; keep any loading tickets or site inspection sheets with the truck so its working record travels with it.
Wholesale routes, builders and the reserve center
LEHD job counts from the Census Bureau put 4,010 jobs in Applewood for 2023. Wholesale trade holds 255 of them on the same LEHD figures, a 6.4 percent share, and box trucks and straight trucks on wholesale routes are part of what we take on.
In the same 2023 Census Bureau tally, construction accounts for 141 jobs, or 3.5 percent. A contractor’s single dump truck, flatbed or crew truck counts just as much as a fleet unit. Have the title, the registration and a list of any equipment mounted on the chassis when you reach out.
Elmer E Fryar USARC, a military installation recorded by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, stands 3.5 miles east. Its address is a handy landmark if your truck is kept on the east side of Applewood and you need to describe where we should meet it.
Cattle, horses and potted plants on Jefferson County land
Jefferson County counted 531 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cattle, potted flowering plants and horses at the top of its list. Stock trucks, livestock haulers and the tractors that pull horse trailers all belong on our list.
Refrigerated box trucks and straight trucks that carry potted plants from county greenhouses are trucks we buy as well. If one sits at a nursery outside Applewood, tell us the farm road and whether a rollback can reach it, and send a photo of the reefer unit’s plate.
Clean-truck regulations now in force
The Colorado Secretary of State’s code of regulations shows the Air Quality Control Commission’s Advanced Clean Trucks Rule in force. The Heavy-Duty Low NOx Rule, a companion part of the same Colorado Clean Cars and Trucks Regulation, is listed as in force too.
When you contact us about a diesel truck registered in Colorado, give us the engine family label or the model year from the door plate so the paperwork for your Applewood truck lines up from the start.
