Pits off the west edge
Aggregate trucks from the pits along the Platte
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Riverbend Sand and Gravel 4.8 miles west of Lochbuie and the Amrize Platte Valley Plant 5.1 miles west. Dump trucks, belly dumps and the tractors that pull them off those two pits are trucks we buy. If yours is parked at a pit gate rather than at home, give us the pit name and a contact who can let us in.
Out to the east, Keenesburg #2, an industrial-mineral mine on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies 13.9 miles from town. A truck that has worked a mine site may carry a site sticker or entry log; photograph those along with the cab, the frame and the bed, and send the VIN with the pictures.
Fuel tractors loading south-west toward Denver
Two petroleum product terminals appear in Energy Information Administration records south-west of Lochbuie: one listed as Denver, 12.8 miles out, and one listed as Dupont, 15.4 miles out. Fuel tractors and straight-truck tankers that load there can be sold to us with the tank still mounted. Have the tank’s test paperwork in the cab with the title so both go together.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics carries two liquid bulk terminals south-west of town, one 13.9 miles away and another at 18.4 miles. If your tractor pulled a tank trailer between those yards, tell us whether the trailer is part of the sale or stays behind, and we will plan the collection around that answer.
Small fleets, mostly staying inside Colorado
According to FMCSA’s carrier census, 113 motor carriers are active in Lochbuie, and 95 of them operate intrastate against 18 that cross state lines. For a Colorado-only truck, the paperwork we ask for is short: the Colorado title, current registration and any service records you keep.
The same federal carrier census counts 33 private fleets here, companies hauling their own goods rather than freight for hire. The three biggest fleets in town run 8, 4 and 3 power units by FMCSA’s figures, so a seller here is usually an owner with one truck or a handful. You can sell one unit and keep the others working.
FMCSA’s carrier census logs fresh Lochbuie registrations as well, with 7 in 2025 following 6 in 2024. If you set up recently and the truck no longer fits the work you took on, the sale runs the same way as for a long-established operator.
General freight, lumber, coil steel and machinery
Of the carriers FMCSA lists in town, 55 haul general freight, 12 carry logs, poles, beams and lumber, 10 move metal sheets, coils and rolls, and 9 haul machinery and large objects. Flatbed and step-deck tractors fit three of those four groups, and dry-van tractors fit the first.
If yours is a flatbed rig, photograph the straps, the chain boxes and the headache rack as well as the deck. Lumber and coil haulers often keep securement equipment with the truck, so tell us what stays on it when we collect.
Census Bureau County Business Patterns list 64 construction establishments in the Lochbuie area. Machinery trailers, lowboys and the tractors pulling them between job sites are welcome, as are dump trucks that serve those builders.
Annual mileage and the inspected fleet’s model years
Among the 29 carriers in town that report mileage to FMCSA, the median truck covers 20,000 miles a year. Have the odometer reading ready when you call; it is one of the first two things we ask for, next to the VIN.
FMCSA roadside inspection records cover 345 trucks inspected between August 2024 and August 2026 for carriers based here, with a median model year of 2019 and 40.3% of them ten or more years old. Any model year is fine to send us; list the year, make and model with the photos so the details match the title.
Farm country and rules
Weld County farm trucks and Colorado’s truck rules
Weld County holds 3,881 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and cattle lead milk and corn on its list of products. Cattle haulers, milk tankers and grain trucks off those farms are trucks we buy, and we collect them from the farmyard where they are parked.
Both the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Rule and the Advanced Clean Trucks Rule are in force under Colorado’s Air Quality Control Commission. Neither one changes what you need to sell a truck to us: the Colorado title in your name, the registration and the keys.
The questions we get asked in Lochbuie
- My belly dump sits at the Riverbend pit outside Lochbuie. Does it need trucking into town before you collect?Riverbend Sand and Gravel sits 4.8 miles west of town on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and we collect from pit yards like that one. Name the person who holds the gate key and which corner of the yard your truck occupies.
- I run a fuel tanker out of the Denver terminal. Will you take the tank as well? The Denver petroleum product terminal is 12.8 miles south-west of Lochbuie in Energy Information Administration records, and tankers loading there are trucks we buy with the tank mounted. Bring the tank’s test papers along with the title.
- I own a single tractor in Lochbuie. Will you buy just that one?Lochbuie’s three largest fleets run 8, 4 and 3 power units by FMCSA’s carrier census, so single-truck owners are the norm here, and one truck is all we need to make the sale.
- Can you collect a cattle trailer rig from a Weld County farm?Weld County has 3,881 farms under USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cattle the leading product, and we pick up trucks at the farm. Send the farm address and photos of the tractor and trailer.
